Happy new year to everyone. I think all of the time zones have snuck in now so it safe to say something. I have been having a relaxing time, with some really hot weather that has set in for the past two weeks. I didn't post any of the xmas cooking but it is around if anyone needs a change of flavour from what they have been having in their climate.
So the end of 2020 has been a good chance to have a break before the really hard work begins for 2021.
I managed to show the year the arse end with a sneaky swim between groups of people coming down that beach.
New Years Eve was fun with friends. I didn't host for the first time in a while and there were spare bedrooms at that house so noone needed to drive afterwards. It took a while to kick into gear the next morning but sunset on the beach with family was pretty good.
Today has been hot so far. I meant to start on a task early at dawn, however somehow distractions crept in...
...Anyway, post an hour or two of distractions, the art room that has been carved out of one of the outside storage rooms normally full of surfboards needed whitewashing to get the desired effect inside. Kind of a sloppy paint, not my idea, but we will try anything once or twice. Red hot inside there and paint flicking here and there, so it was shirts off, then eventually everything off to not sweat to death.

Love the beach shots. I guess what I read about your end of the world is true with regards to people doing their thing.
What was your Christmas menu? You mentioned it but didn't show anything.

Thank you. You will get pics from here and there as I move about and do my thing. Probably all WA stuff for a while, I can't see travel resuming any time in 2021. Summer through to the end of may at least so you will get a lot of that.
Indian Ocean west coast sunsets are right up there. It's my happy place. A bit of salt in the air, a swim and the sun going down are all going to relax me.
It was hot enough to not even have one layer on. Sweat pooling and running on every inch and crevice.
I think we are up to 290 days since last community transmission here. It was an elimination strategy rather than a containment one, so life is pretty normal now.
That said, it was a pretty popular spot to be on the beach over the Christmas and New year break. Still another week for most people as most companies close down for 2 weeks or more and just give the days off as a gift to staff, not counted on their annual leave. Had to walk through a pile of people to get down to the clothing optional section.
I try to have fun with all the various places. I always like seeing other people's areas of the world so figure I will keep sharing. Scroll past if it is not your thing. I do swim in bathers, but if I can get away with it I prefer nothing in the water.
Certainly we are lucky in the policies in place that allowed it to happen.

There are certain sections of beach that are for dogs. Horse sections too if you want to walk your horses in the water. No worries really in daily life. Just can't leave for certain areas outside of the state or come back without quarantining.
The odd moments
Topless anywhere, bottoms off after 290m and into the optional area that extends for 5km. I don't know about admonished, probably someone would whistle out and cock an eye towards the missing bikini to silently say wrong area.

Geographical constraint.
There are signs saying 290m to the clothing optional section. From the south end you have to go down to the beach because the dunes are a protected wildlife zone, plus the military base fence comes close. You can come in from the north end pretty well direct to it. In between is a military base down to the dune line, you might be able to see the guard tower closest. Not the big tower, that's an assault training thing. On days they are live firing on the ranges the beach gets closed off in the middle part of the CO section, leaving just the north and south parts.
Gets interesting if you have gone for a nice nude walk up the beach and they then decide its time to close the section as you might need to walk around the base to get back where you have left your clothes. They are sensible and give people a chance.

Not lately. More tourism lately but it has been an immigration detention centre and more recently quarantine. The runway is used for military flights as well. The red crab run is quite spectacular. Christmas, Cocos and Keeling islands have an interesting history.
