Eleven years of military experience. Knowing the real differences between men and women doesn't make a sexist, don't make yourself out to be a fool by claiming otherwise.
Look, I have no idea about who the person is that was picked as the new leader of the Air Force Academy (and I'm too lazy to research just to.... ) but to be dismissive of someone for their gender doesn't seem right to me.
I have to assume that there is certain criteria (years of service, distinction during your career etc) that needs to be met before one can even be considered for a leadership role. I am assuming that the people who pick the leaders have had military careers themselves.
Speaking for my experience with Indian Armed Forces... some of the most sexist assholes I've ever seen. The female officers are twice as tough and twice as smart as their peers, they need to constantly prove their mettle. And I've argued with the good folks there about the unfairness of it all and their response. Well, it's a matter of our nation's security you can't take chances.
