This is a link sent to me by another author. It was written by Selena Kitt and has some very interesting information about Amazon that's geared to anyone published in the erotica field.

Interesting, but probably not cause for undue alarm.

The title of this reminds me of a book called "Pornocalypse" that I read a few years ago. It was all about zombies and the end of the world. Just made me giggle...

I agree that Amazon is doing this. BUT, Selena's essay really should have been titled "Tips for Treading Water at Amazon."

First, it isn't quite that bad for the full range of erotica. Selena's offerings focus on incest. That gets special scrutiny.

Second, Amazon is no longer the elephant in the room on erotica sales, and its market share is sinking steadily.

The best way to survive this, I think, isn't to try to hold onto Amazon share come hell or high water and expend all your energy there, but to diversify point of sales--get on as many distributor platforms as you can.
