So where have I been? ? ?
I've been here at home, rarely on the computer anymore. When I do have some free time from my job and my day off correlates with the spouse's, we are usually doing something together... a good thing. Many of you know he and I have had problems, some severe enough I was >< this close to leaving. Many tears were shed by the both of us, many things done that can't be undone. . . but reevaluating my life was a priority I had to make tops.
I miss Lit and all the friends here and I'm not disappearing completely, but I do know I am no longer addicted to this site. I miss writing too, but right now I don't have the drive to do it, perhaps if I ever get my laptop fixed that will change.
What's been going on with me... well, for those of you that remember... back in Feb. I bought a new car, a 2007 Red Chevy Cobalt. If you click the attached pictures, you'll see what happened to it in Aug.
I lost control on a gravel road and rolled it. I came out with only minor scratches on my left arm and some severe bruising on my belly. VERY LUCKY! I was wearing my seatbelt or I would have probably been thrown from the vehicle, which is exactly what happened to all the loose things in the car.
We've replaced the car, with another 2007 Cobalt, this one is black and fully loaded with leather and a sunroof even. I like it, but .... I don't seem as connected to it as I was the Red one.
Work is going well. I'm hoping to be promoted as soon as a store manager position becomes available.
Weight loss has remained stagnant. I did go back to limiting my Mt. Dew, so that's a BIG plus. It'll be 2 years this month on the 24!! I'm down 183 lbs. Amazing!! The weight loss is probably another reason I'm not online so much. My self esteem is higher because I don't feel I have to hide behind a screen. I am healthy enough to join the world that waits for me outside my door.

No, this is not a plea for you to let go of your real life and become ever present on Lit. Just wanted to let you know you are dearly missed.

I've missed you too. Thanks! Good luck with the gym. I know it's hard to get back to the habits when we slide from them.Congrats with everything RED.

It is going pretty well for a change. I most certainly miss you too, but I think you are very much aware of that. Deju vu... Hmm... wouldn't know why.
You know...though an accident happens in seconds, you have a lot of time to process it all. So many thoughts went through my head from ways to try and regain control of the car, to acceptance that the vehicle and what came next was no longer in my control and I just had to let God take the wheel. When I realized that I was calm and relaxed. *chuckles* I even was able to have clear thoughts while the car rolled and the sound of metal and glass surrounded me.
During the roll over I brought my hands up to cover my face and opened my eyes, through the spaces of my fingers, I thought about how beautiful the day was and how the sun glinted off the spray of glass. *shakes head*

My darling friend, I can't believe you didn't tell me about your crash ffs. I am so glad to hear, and see, that the car took the brunt of it. I am also glad to hear that things are great at home and at work. I miss you hunny but I share with you the feeling that I don't need Lit like I used too!!!

I've gotten another promotion. I'll be transferring back to the store I left, but this time as a full-time employee with benefits/vacation time and PTO days (paid time off). I'll be taking a co-manager position, this is one step under the store manager, who is going to prep me to run her store, if'n the cards work out. No promises for that position, but the new position alone will put in ahead for taking over a store that may come open in the future, even if it isn't her's.

Wonderful news about work - I assume you are in a salaried post now rather than on an hourly rate? I have an interview this afternoon and another one on Thursday. I am just debating cancelling Thursday's as it would mean quite a lot of travelling and weekend working. As Borg does Monday to Friday 9-5 and works 5 mins from home it would be a shame to spend an hour and a half a day travelling and have different days off every week. I will wait and see how this afternoon's goes before deciding I think.

I wouldn't have thought so much of life could improve with such a decision but it has, from not only my health, but my overall self-esteem. And... it's 2 years.

Thanks! It is very hard to believe. I know I could NEVER go back to where I was both before the surgery and before coming to Lit and meeting so many wonderful people.
My life is so much different, richer in so many ways. How have you been? I'm not online as much as I used to be and when I am it's in short spurts. A good thing though compared to how I was online hours and hours before.

Doing good, gained a little bit of weight back, trying to get it off............I'm right there with ya on the before and after surgery. I just enrolled and got accepted to one of the colleges around here.......so we'll see how that goes. It's a different school than the one i was going to before

My job promotion got shifted to another store. Still the store manager of one, just not the store I trained in. I was disappointed but I understood their reasoning behind it, so no hard feelings as far as that goes. I am however VERY concerned with the high "shrink" in the store (Internal/External loss of msde.) as well as a new member of mgmt that the District Manager hired...well I just don't trust her and that's the impression I got from the first and only day I've worked with her so far.

I've worked retail before so I know what shrink is............have you gone over her head with your concerns about her?
