Supporting Red...

Red, sorry to hear that :rose: Will insurance pay to have it removed? Or will they make you wait until you've lost all you need to lose? I would think that would be a bit unfair, especially if you're in a lot of pain. I would talk to my surgeon about this. I hope you feel better soon

The insurance will only cover the surgeries if I develop sores, or rashes. This isn't something they would deem medically necessary to have taken care of. I'll have to cover the cost of any reconstruction I need unless I develop the before mentioned issues.

That really stinks! *huggles* I don't know whether to hope that it occurs so you can get it fixed or to hope that it doesn't...I suppose the best thing is to just hope that the pains go away...

I'd rather rashes and sores not occur. I have a hard enough time with my body image. I wouldn't want to add that problem too.

 *hugs* to you too!

Good evening all. :rose:

I've been noticing lately some new aches and pains that have been creeping up on me. With the weight loss comes the loose skin, we know this... I expected it so that isn't a big surprise that I have some, actually I don't have too much since they did that surgery back in June because of the skin infection... but anywhooo...

The aches and pains are coming from the loose skin. Gravity is working against me. I will go to bed and wake up hurting. The skin (I assume) is pulling down on the muscles, tendons, nerves that keep everything together and it hurts to move. If I wear clothes such as: nylons, slacks, etc... then the pain is not there, it simply doesn't exist. It is when I am naked and the skin is not confined closer to my body that I have issues. I'm thinking one of those "body" suits, that some ladies like to wear to turn their lover(s) on, will become something I wear to keep myself from waking every morning in pain.

I wasn't expecting pain with loose skin. But it makes sense (unless I didn't explain it right to you folks). . .;) :D

Loads of Hump Day (((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))) for you Red...

I didn't realize that this would be a side effect and I hope that there is something simple that does provide comfort. As someone who lives with chronic pain and as a result sleeping issues I can empathise...

I've been doing so well physically since my med change that I've been busting booty in the yard.

My gardener wasn't doing his job and the more I did the less he and his workers had to do. I have a new gardener now and I'm remodeling all the flower beds, amending the steril dirt, potting some plants for later relocation and the Mrs. now wants a flower bed on the back side of the swimming pool...

The dirt here is mostly hard clay that is almost sedamentary rock it's so dense and hard even wet, and a clay/sand mix with zero orgainc mater...

The sand/clay accepts the orgainc matter easily but the clay balls require much more work, even hand breaking the balls against my digging tools because it requires less time and energy than a shovel or digging fork.

I typically stop when I have the clay balls down to golf ball or marble average size. Exposed to the air/sun/sprinklers also helps to soften them over time.

In the last three weeks I've only had a couple days off for rest... I wasn't going to the gym but I could see that the extra work was providing benifits. Monday I went back to the gym for measurments/weigh in and we were both suprised at the results.

Just for reference my starting stats were,

Nov. 06
Weight, 189
% Body Fat 22.9
Fat Mass 43.28
Lean Body Mass 145.71

July 07
Weight, 182.6
% Body Fat 22
Fat Mass 40.17
Lean Body Mass 142.42

Sept. 07
Weight 177.4
% Body Fat 19
Fat Mass33.7
Lean Body Mass 143.69

My high school weight was 155 to 160 pounds and me lowest weight since I began working out 4 years ago was 170 pounds with a 32" waist.

My current waist measurment is 35.5" so I'm getting close to my ideal weight and I still have many weeks of gardening left if nothing more is added by the Mrs...

While today was to be a rest day because of my gym work out I'm office bound today unpacking necessities as I have an emergency consulting job set for Saturday. I was awaiting cabinet/shelving instillation but finances delayed that plan...

So, I won't be around Lit as much as I would like for now but I'll be back as I can and even if I don't always post I'm trying to keep up with you and keeping you in my thoughts/prayers... :rose:

How wonderful to see you and what great numbers!!! Congrats to you!! :D :nana:

I didn't think the pain from loose skin would be an issue either. It never occurred to me. I always was aware of excess skin and how it would look, but not the pain of having it "hang loose". There really isn't anything they can do for me. I have thought of the "body sock" and ibuprofen. I'd prefer neither.

Sounds like your home is getting really dolled up as far as gardening goes. :D Pictures when you're done, please. :D

It did; thanks. :D

I went fishing with the spouse. Together we caught 24 fishies. He caught the biggest, a 16 inch large mouth bass. We got some perch, mud bass, blue gill, and sun fish, or something like that. :D

I hope your day went well.

Morning FS. :)

Nah, he cleaned them all and their in the fridge soaking in salt water. We'll freeze it later, if we don't eat them this week. lol

I did enjoy myself. I like fishing. :D I'm the one that taught him how to when we were dating. I even taught him how to clean fish, though through the years he has developed his own way of doing things. It wasn't until this last year that I was able to go fishing again. . . being the mom, I was the one that stayed home while he went out on the boat to fish. Kinda like a kick in the gut, being the one that taught him and then not being able to enjoy it for 12 years. *shrugs* But that's life.

I get to fish now. :D :D

Like I have mentioned before , I don't likeeee....I would take a book and enjoy it that way:)
But I'm glad you have fun sweety!

TODAY IS YOUR DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rose:

 I remembered you don't like fishing. You'd have gotten a lot of reading done. We started at 8:30 and ended at 2:30. lol

How about we share the day? :D (Actually I have to work and I'm leaving in 30 min. or so).
