Update from the surgeon. . .

One more week of packing and then they will put the wound vac in and then later close the wound, where he'll do a tummy tuck too as part of the rebuilding process of my abdomen.

I also discovered more about what was wrong with me. Cellulitis - and of course I had to get the really bad case. *sigh*

Hi there. I'm in and out lately. I get wore out quickly, so I'm not online as much as I used to be. I'm sure once my body is back to normal I'll be me again. ( Which I hope is a good thing )

I wish I was back to my happy self. I'm trying very hard not to fall into the dumps, looking at the big picture ahead and how frustrating all of this is. I get tired of being tired and having to have my spouse pack this open wound. *sigh* I know it is only another week for that, but it is still a week. Afterwards. . . I still won't be fixed. grrrr

I know, I sound pathetic. Pity party, I guess. *smirk* and *sigh* I feel like stomping my feet, pouting and whining to the world. *chuckles* and *shakes head*

My desire to write in my SRPs has taken a severe dip into nothingness, and thank goodness I have my chapter to the chain story submitted or who knows when the muse would return for that!

Ohhh okay. . . I'm done. *takes a deep breath and stops whining*

Nope not a good thing at all. . .I wasn't aware of how serious an issue I had until later. They don't tell ya that in the hospital. Not that it would have mattered. I wouldn't have been able to do anything about it. I'm glad it didn't get into my organs and I only lost skin and some abdominal muscle.

One positive thing out of all of this. . . The Tummy Tuck I would have needed for reconstructive surgery for my gastric bypass is now covered by insurance, because the surgeon handling this wound will have to rebuild my abdomen, thus a tummy tuck.

I am getting better everyday. I do tire easily, so I'm not online as much. I can move around pretty good for a gal with a giant hole in her stomach.

I see the surgeon today at 4pm and we'll learn if we are to keep packing the wound or if they will put a wound-vac in or close the wound. With either of the last two options I'll need another surgery. *sigh* It is a long road ahead, isn't it. *sigh* & *shrug*

I have finally lost all that Saline solution weight they gave me in the hospital. So I am down to 294. I think that is the lowest I've been since starting this thread. That's down 109 lbs!

Never feel ashamed about a hospital visit. They aren't fun and they can be quite intimidating.
