Just slipping in with a Red update....

I just talked with Red....she came through the surgery ok. It was a pretty bad infection that affected the very last layer of skin. They repaired what they could but will be moving her to a hospital where the main reconstructive surgeons work. She will be there for a week....she thinks. That was the last time table she'd gotten, but she's not sure if it has changed since the surgery or not. They are controlling her pain well, so she's not hurting very much. She sounded like she was in good spirits, but pretty tired. If I hear anything else, I'll let you know.

Please give her my well wishes, to. I didn't even know she was having problems until yesterday. What a lousy way to spend a birthday. Maybe she can make up for it soon. Get well, Red

Another update from Red:
She has been transferred to a different hospital where there are plastic surgeon specialists. She has two spots between her intestine and muscle wall that will have to be cut out, then replaced with donated skin. This will happen tomorrow. If all goes well and her body accepts the donated skin, she won't have to endure any more surgeries.

She goes in tomorrow to have this done but she's not sure what time as of yet.

She sounded to be in good spirits (a lot less loopy than the other evening ) and thanks everyone here for their love and support and prayers.

I just talked with Red....the skin graft took well. If she continues to progress as well as she's doing now, she may get to come home Tuesday or Wednesday. She still sounds as if she's in good spirits, though. If I hear anything else, I'll let you know.
