I am not yet wireless, so my daughter had the computer for quite a while this afternoon.

 Thanks for thinking of me though. :) That is nice to know. :)

Dang, Red...

My wife should get home early today and I'll try to get "the secret handshake" for you... ;)

I know she had the same trouble but found a special way to coordinate the PC and Linksys IP addresses...

It was easy once she figured it out. ;)

Hey Red. Checking in on you to see how things are going your way. I hope you're having less pain now.

 It is, but it is so worth it. :) I'm going out tonight. . .cottage cheese at the salad bar at Pizza Hut. lol. . .

I don't want the kids missing out on special nights, just because my life has changed. . .so cottage cheese for me. :D

I actually like cottage cheese but don't know if I'd choose it over pizza ;) I understand you have no choice. It will be hard but you can do it.

I do like cottage cheese. I have had a week of seeing them eat things I can't right now, but eh. . .in the end it is just food and it is all gone. . .(says that and promises not to want a Mt. Dew. lol. ) :D

I survived Pizza Hut. . .(that sounds like it should be on a shirt. ;) ) . . .

I had the salad bar and enjoyed some shredded cheese and cottage cheese. I thought of the jello, but had my daughter try it first and she proclaimed it sweet and good which of course meant it was not sugar free jello. . .lol So I didn't have it.

You know it wasn't that hard. I did have a mouth watering moment with the marinara sauce and the garlic bread they were dipping, but I did live. ;)

----------

Today though, earlier in the morning I was with my hubby and I told him I was worried. . .I told him what if I am one of the wierd ones that this doesn't work for and I don't lose weight and I fail. . .

He said. . .Hon. . .you are eating 6 ounces of food a day! How could you not lose weight?

I know he is right and it is just me overthinking my odd self, (which I am very odd. . .) but deep down I think . . .if anyone can screw this up it'll be me.

I'm fine honey - just dandy, is the body recovering well now?
Yes, though for the last two days I've been in an upright position more than usual and that seems to pull a bit more, so I may have to take a few lay down moments tomorrow. I haven't been overworking myself, but sitting at the computer hassling with my router and wireless crap. I'll be heading to bed in a few.

Just popped in to say thanks about putting me right on the other thread ! :)

Is it conceited to start your own support thread? I don’t think so. I am starting this one because I think I’ll need it. On October 24th of this year, I’m undergoing Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Surgery. I have pre test and a pre op class on the 9th and 10th.

This isn’t a decision that I just woke up to one day and decided on. I spent over 5 years researching it and even now as the day closes in on me, I’m still learning things.

I will tell you this. . .

My surgeon told me. . .for every 100 pounds a person is overweight you lose 20 years of your life. . .folks. . . I want my years back! :D

If you've had this surgery and want to share your story or offer advice, please do so! I am not alone in this journey.
I found out about this surgery and I was on the table within six months. I had the operation 2 days after my birthday. I had a choose of 11/4 or 11/6. To say the least I didn't want to be put through this on my birtday.

It worked beautiful until I hit a bad depression.

By now you have had this operation and have lost at least 10 to 15 pounds.

Good and Better Luck then I had

Hey there SS. . .Yes, I would agree, it isn't something one wants done on their birthday. I had mine on my daughters which was sad enough for all of us, but she did get to celebrate her day early.

I haven't weighed in yet, but I do hope I've lost something. :D

Thanks for the good and better luck wishes. *hugs*

you will know if you have lost weight if the pants you wore in early september needs a belt now. That's what happened to me. When I went to the doctor for the first after being out of the hositpal I spent an hour looking for a belt, which I had to punch a hole into. What a problem to have to deal with. It was great, I laughed and smile the whole time.

I do know the knit slacks I wore 3 days before the surgery are very baggy now already. . . :D But I don't know how much I've lost. . .I will weigh in on Monday or Tuesday at my family doc's, because the surgeon is 3 hours away.
