A quick note to everyone who posted. Thank you very much. :rose:

The surgery went well and it was done laproscopic. The first day and the second I was on an Ice Chip only diet. I had to get up and walk every couple of hours and I still can't master how to get up or sit down without hurting myself.

The third day I was put on a grape juice diet and again. . .walking. I NEVER want to drink grape juice again!!!

My pain medication kept knocking me out so terribly or good, depending how you look at it, that they put me on Children's Motrin and Tylenol, because I was sleeping so deep that along with the sleep apnea I have my oxygen level was dropping to 70% instead of the 95 and up they wanted it.

The IV's collapsed several of my veins and a pic line was ordered, this is where the IV catheder can stay in the vein for weeks or several months. Mine was in for a 12 hours or so, before I was told I was going home.

I had 1 oz. of oatmeal, and 1 oz of orange jello for breakfast and for lunch I had 1 oz. of mashed potatoes and 1 oz of Cottage Cheese.

We got home around 4:30 and hubby left to grab the kids and fill perscriptions, but forgot my pain killer. ..grrrr... ;) So he's gone to get that. :D

Thanks again everyone.

Howdy Red
Glad to see you home and recovering.
au_man's suggestion about the pillow is a good one. They do that for many surgical patients. A whistle or bell is also useful for alerting family members that you need assistance.
Take care of your self and follow the doctores orders. You are headed into a new life and lifestyle. Healing and comforting wishes continue.

Thank you pleaz. {{{{hugs}}}} I appreciate all the thoughts. I needed them. I got on the surgery table and thought. . .Okay, nevermind, changed my mind. Don't need to be here, forget it. . .

Then I remembered I thought the same thing in the middle of giving birth to my eldest and I made it. ;)

I haven't been on Lit as much as I'd like the past few weeks and so managed to miss this thread entirely.

Congratulations, Red! I have no doubt you're doing the right thing. :rose:

Thank you zuke. I have to keep telling myself that when I get up and my left side hurts and I struggle like I'm 99 years old walking down the hallway. I appreciate your support. :)

The first thing I noticed after my drug-induced pain killer state was no more. . .was I wanted it to come back. . .lol.

Funny, my taste buds have changed, this I hear is normal for some and folks do get the taste for some things back. Right now. . . I can't stand anything with added sugar, even some splenda products are just too sweet. I got off of caffeine and pop and was drinking flavored water, like Fruit-2-0 and now I can't stand it. :p Natural sugars, like applesauce unsweetened and a pure fruit popsicle with no sugar added. . .I can't even taste the natural sugar. It is gone. I taste the sourness of the fruit. Odd.

2% milk. . .tastes like thick, creamy whole milk. lol.

I so wish I'd been around to give my support Red. I'm glad you're up and about though. :)
