New topic of conversation...

I was talking to Wyld in the other thread we frequent (she stalks me ya know... but that is okay, the stalking is mutual) :D .... anywho... my question was, Why do we do things we know aren't good for us?

In my case (today) it is medical.

I have to take vitamins every day. Not just one or two, but seven and one day a week I have to take nine. Do I get them all in every day, no. *sigh* Honestly I haven't been taking them at all since I got home from the hospital. I know I need to, so why don't I just do it. (I took some of them a bit ago).

But why do we do this? We know or at least in my case I know I have to have those pills. Why do I balk at it? *sigh* Why do we balk at what we know we have to do. I know it is because we don't like it, but this is our health. Why am I stubborn about this? Why won't my mind remind me to take them? I start out in the morning telling myself I am going to take my pills, then my day starts and I forget, till it is bedtime.

Okay psychic sis, I was just sitting here thinking damn, I haven't taken my happy pills today!!! I am on my second can of cider but no happy pills lol :D

;) I do take my vitamins eventually, but never daily. It is something I need to do. The habit of doing it. *sigh*

Change is always hard, even if it's for the better...So we fear or hesitate to do it, even if it's the best thing for us...:cathappy:

Yes, change is hard, but this is my health... why can't I just do it. I mean I got the surgery to live longer. So you'd think swallowing some pills or chewing them every day wouldn't be an issue. *sigh* But it is.

Well, Mrs has that kind of problem quite frequently too...It's still about change...Maybe your life will be better, but there's the irrational fear in the back of the mind that it'll ruin what's already working...

*nods* I can see that. In my mind, I've not had any issues with the days I've not taken the vitamins, and the days I remember, my body doesn't feel different. I do know that we're talking long term for me.

*huggles* Those are often the worst times...We tend to want to see some signs that things are working...instant gratification and all that...

No more staples; no more drain. :D The doctor has cleared me for upper body workouts at the Y and walking the track, but no lower body workouts or running. No time soaking in the tub or the hot tub either. I go to see him again at the end of July. :)

*flies by dropping off ((((Hugs)))) 's and :rose: 'd for Red*

Your car question hun, if not too well off/educated then it has to be a Vauxhall Astra.

Bit more up market then a Volkeswagen Golf GTI.

Or if a hard core "boy racer" (I did hear he crashed it) maybe a Subaru Imprezza or a Toyota Supra, or Nissan 300ZX.

Night hun
