From Sandy Fox:

"With Amy's support and permission, I am trying to gather everyone who knew Suzy, and has stories about her, and get them to write them down.

These stories can be as short as a paragraph or as long as they want. They can be happy, sad and or funny. They don't even need to be stories. They can be poems or a paragraph about how they felt about Suz. They just need to be heartfelt and honest because they well be "us" telling Amy how much we loved Suz and still love her and the girls. Here is an example of mine: http://open.salon.com/blog/sandy_fox...es_of_safe_bet

You have access/credentials with the writing / poetry community that I will never have. Suzy and Amy are an integral part of that community here on Lit. I want her friends to show Amy the love they had for Suzy.

If you can get anyone interested, I'd like to see the stories posted on Open Salon.com (which is the site Suzy posted her own Eulogy on and which Amy and the girls read often). They are welcome to join OS and post their own stories or they are welcome to use my blog (PM me the text and I'll post for them, giving them full credit).

I'm asking that the stories be posted there because Amy will have her girls reading them and, well, Lit just isn't the place they should be reading about their mother. (The stories can be bawdy because that WAS Suz, but hopefully not overtly sexual)."

Can those of us who have fond memories of Suzy please tell Amy how much we loved her and how much we miss her? I think it would help Amy a lot in this terrible, terrible time.

I'll be glad to share something on my OS blog. I want Amy and the girls to know that Safe was important to us and meant a lot to us. They do too, through Safe.

"Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle Autumn rain. When you awaken in the mornings hush, I am the swift uplifting rush, of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there, I did not die!"
