Superman's Just Been Killed at the Box Office

I watched it IMAX on Sunday. Fantastic. Everything you go to the movies for. I didn't notice anything woke that would trigger our snowflakes but they get offended by everything.

One part very much parallels our current situation... A corporate tyrant locks up people he believes are dangerous in cages but also incarcerates people who dare hurt his fragile feelings.

Haven't seen the movie yet, but heard good things. One thing mentioned by a review I heard (random pod) was that Lex Luther's entire motivation is envy of Superman.

Relevant to current times.

What could possible be relevant about a man who is rich because he inherits a company from his father, is bald, has a fragile ego and runs for POTUS only to stroke that ego?

I suspect such envy ruffles a lot of right wing feathers.

The Luthor::Trump and Superman::Obama comparisons are disturbingly similar.

I’m not comfortable comparing Lex Luthor to Trump. In the comics, Lex Luthor was an ultra intelligent super genius.

James Gunn complaining about conservatives (that he loathes and says do not belong in his theaters) are not coming out to see this. It is doing ok but not at all well overseas. He is telling non-US audiences it is not really American. His interview with EW was pathetic.

The best part of the movie is when superman turns his back on what his kryptonian parents wanted for him and embraces the strong sense of good the kents instilled in him.

His interview made himself millions more dollars than he would have otherwise. And, bonus for real Americans, it kept a few of the more dorky traitors out of the theaters.

But, as always, thank you for sharing your butthurt. That's why we're keeping this thread alive. 😎

That part confuses the hell out of stupid fucking MAGAtards like you. Why would he embrace good? Is he a sucker and a loser?

Well if he embraces good and justice then you stupid fucking MAGAtards hate him.

I mean you realize how much you all look like the villains of every movie made in the last 60 years right?

Your parents were cousins. No?

Superman would not let a politician steal his copy writed uniform. What TWIT would be that childlike and THEN have his cult try to crap on the movie

They should sue his ass for a BILLION dollars. That’s the inly shot he understands. Was he officially wearing the uniform? Ohhh it was just a joke?? WTF??

I gave Gunn my bucks tonight

The world is not laughing along with him. They are planning the FUTURE without the U.S. The the U.S. and us! Did you all realize that U.S. spells us????

You know what the solution is don't you?

Emigrate to one of those countries that you believe are laughing at the US. That way when the US collapses you'll be on the winning team.

Go now before the last flight out of America is fully booked.

"Superman" director James Gunn drops new excuse for his movie failing: how much the world hates America

Let me clear from the jump: I saw Superman and thought it was excellent. It was non-political. It had nothing to do with the illegal immigration debate that the left and the media (but I repeat myself) claims is an immigration debate. It was a fun comic book movie. But it's 2025, and we can't have nice things. James Gunn, after first refusing to take the bait and then allegedly taking the bait, is now using politics as a scapegoat for disappointing ticket sales.

Funny, because I had expected this to be an issue with Fantastic Four, though through no fault of the movie and entirely because of the press. Our culture wars start with journalismers who don't cover politics wanting to insert their politics into everything. Actors answer politically charged questions awkwardly because, silly them, thought they were there to answer questions about a movie. Everyone else has a knee-jerk reaction and gets their clicks in.
