Suitably manly

Another poem.

Rain by Raymond Carver

Woke up this morning with
a terrific urge to lie in bed all day
and read. Fought against it for a minute.

Then looked out the window at the rain.
And gave over. Put myself entirely
in the keep of this rainy morning.

Would I live my life over again?
Make the same unforgivable mistakes?
Yes, given half a chance. Yes.

Ask me that question in 5 different languages and I'll probably give you five of the same answer in each language. ;)

Dois-je aller plus loin?

E I hele no hoi ia?

Naj gredo še dlje?

Soll ich noch weiter gehen?

Bu chòir dhomh a dhol nas fhaide?

:D

Read this in a passage today and thought it summarised my career:

"I felt a bit like a sperm whale that breaks the surface of the water, makes a little splash, and lets you believe, makes you believe, or want to believe, that down there where it can't be seen, down there where it is neither seen nor monitored by anyone, it is following a deep, coherent, and premeditated trajectory."

I think I am getting good at convincing people I am following a deep, coherent and premeditated trajectory when actually I basically just do whatever I feel like. :D

:D:D

Deep and profound... then the ending!

Sexy and humorous!
