have been surfing all morning and still cannot find what I am looking for......... so thought I'd ask on here........

can anyone suggest any piece of music, be it classical or modern that could be used against the backdrop of a celebratory firework display?

please, any suggestions would be grately received

thanks in advance

William Tell Overture ?

Um .... you could check out one of the free MP3 sites and search for classical music to download and sample. LimeWire is what I use. There is also Morpheus and BearShare.

My first thought was the 1812 Symphony -- it was originally orchestrated to include Cannons as part of the orchestra and has been used for fireworks displays before.

Dvorak's New World Symphony is also one I've seen used with fireworks to good effect.

Handel wrote a couple of pieces intended to be used with celebratory fireworks also.

Bruce Springsteen

Paradise by the "C", a bouncy upbeat instrumental.

Just a few more that crossed my mind.

In the Mood - Glenn Miller
Joy to the World - 3 Dog Night
Rock and Roll part 2 ( the Hey Song)- Gary Glitter
Shout

These might all work as I've heard them used in similar fireworks/laser shows, depends on what you are celebrating.

Best of luck.

Isn't Ode to Joy really upbeat and well whatever?

Hell I don't know if it would work but try it, you never know.

:)

Van Halen - Jump

B-52s - Love Shack

Mason Williams - Classical Gas

Joe Satriani - You're my everything

Billy Idol - Mony Mony

Rolling Stones - Start me up

Cream - Sunshine of your love

W.H. is right, Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture done with cannons instead of kettle drums is an obvious classic.

You can put "Everyday People" by Sly and family Stone to absolutely any event you choose.

Really you can. It's proven.
