Suggestion for naming threads

Flame away, but here is my suggestion anyway. I've always been a member of the "if you don't like it, don't read it" club. But I've been gone a week and it is annoying trying to catch up on threads because there are so many of them these days. It is impossible in many cases to tell which threads are the "Hi, I'm here" or "Bye, I'm leaving" threads from their titles. Worse are the ones that say things like "Do you like..." and then you have to open the thread to find out the question has nothing to do with sex, but Kenny G music! I hate Kenny G, so that one pissed me off as a waste of time in particular. But the point is, please don't trick us to have to open the silly threads- it takes too much time. (Example: that last one could have been titled "Kenny G music" and I would have blown right by it.)

So, my suggestion is to please put a clue as to the thread contents IN the title, not necessarily just in the first post. The more specific the title, the better.

And yes, I'm cranky today, so sue me. Flew threw too many time zones yesterday to get home.

That is EXACTLY the point I have been trying to make in a much more subtle way! I am so happy that someone finally said what I was thinking. I started about 30 threads in the past two days to alleviate some pain in my life, but I purposely titled them that way because I too get tired of it.

I look at the poster. There are about five on this board that when I see their name, pass right over the post. Have learned from experience that it will be another asinine post with no meaning, at least to me. Gives me time to concentrate on the ones that have some meaning other than to inflate the post totals

The New Thread Naming Convention:

Take the first four letters of your username. Then add an "F" for "frivolous" or "S" for "serious". After this, place a "?" for a question, a "." for a statement, or a "!" to denote an exciting announcement. Then, reduce your statement down to a single descriptive sentence, and further reduce that to an anacronym.

Thus, if Aiko (my cat) was climbing my curtains (which she does) and I was seeking advice, I would title my thread thusly:

LAUR_S_?_MCICTC

or some might think it should be

LAUR_F_?_MCICTC

depending on your views on cats and/or curtains.
