Having spent my life surrounded by people with real addictions I don't care for the analogy. If this is all you 'suffer' from consider yourself fortunate.

As a person in recovery, I appreciate you making that statement. But, the diminishment of the concept of addiction is a fait accompli, and I can't begrudge people people using it in what has become standard usage.
