Submissions - how long?????

OK...I'm about as impatient as they come sometimes and want to know EVERYTHING before during and after. LOL

About how long does it take for a "decision" to be made on submissions?? I know there's tons of them daily, so just want to get an idea how long it may take to get a "story accepted" notice or one than says "OMG that sucked!" LOLOL

There is a statement in the FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) which is linked from the sticky at the top of the Authors' Hangout: Welcome Authors. Please Read!

The official answer is three to seven days except:

When you are a new author, and

It's slower when there is a themed contest running, which there is at the moment - The National Nude Day Contest 2010 - and the story is NOT an entry to that contest.

There are many unofficial answers:

1. One day longer than the author thinks is reasonable, or

2. It depends on the wind speed and direction, or

3. Are the sheep lying down or running around...
