Why don't you have any patience with it? You know you don't so don't even go there.

What Amazon lady said.

I'm guilty as charged. And have been working on controlling that impatience for most of my adult life.

I'm fairly patient, as you well know. I just know that I can be REALLY stupid,(as you well know,) so, I think to myself, well, they're just as stupid as I can be. Although, lately I've become slighly more impatient. I attend that to working in retail. Just today, I was in the Men's room, and this guy was just coming out of our "small" stall, and he started complaining that it was SO small, he had a hard time getting into it. Well, when I entered the bathroom, the Handicapped stall was wide open. Whoever said that he couldn't of used that stall? Most times, I don't complain because, it's no fun.

Stupidity is whatever you want it to be. "Stupid" is one of the most subjective perjoratives in use today.

I have no patience with stupidity because I think stupidity is intentional. People who are less intelligent than others aren't stupid. I don't think anyone is actually stupid. Stupid is when someone does things at a lesser level, intellectually, than they're capable of out of laziness or selfishness or something equally bad.

There are at least two different kinds of stupidity.

One is an unwillingness to use your brain or pay attention. These people want you to spoon-feed them every detail of every task you ask of them. Repeatedly. Until it's drilled into their head by rote repetition. The people that I have worked with over the years have learned that I hate stupid questions (i.e. a question they have enough information to answer themselves with 2 seconds of thought). I hate being asked the same question twice even more. If you didn't listen to my answer the first time, why should I waste MY time repeating it so you can ignore it again?

The other kind of "stupidity" is those people that have physical problems, either retardation or brain damage. I have a lot more patience with this kind of "stupidity". It's not something they asked for or can do anything about. Most of the people I have worked with like this are the total opposite of lazy. I might have had to repeat some instructions before they learned a task, but once they got it, they always made every effort to do the absolute best job of it that they were capable of. I have a lot of admiration for the daily struggle they go through. I'll go out of my way to help them as much as I can.

That's a great way of putting it. Lets face it, even us "smart" people have are stupid moments. It's the people that do something stupid, then, critize other's everyday for doing pretty much the same damn exact thing that piss me off.

W/ me, depends on who's being stupid. Some people never seem to get anything no matter HOW MANY TIMES I REPEAT MYSELF! I am a crew leader & I work w/ a lot of people who I think need to start jump- starting their brains w/ some coffee first thing in the morning.

I'm in the same boat as login.

A person that has a deminished brain capacity has no choice so I give a little leeway. Hell I get a little stupid evey now and then, (See my "Check this out" post from this morning...)

But the ignorant person I have absolutely no trolerance for. Someone who just doesn't care to educate themself, yet cannot wait to jump in and give their opinion and fully expect you to respect and accept that point of view.

But since I'm speaking out of my ass 80% of the time anyway...

For me, it comes down to a lack of tolerance. I have high expectations of people, I can't help that. I have even higher expectations of myself.

I can understand why you would have high expectations for yourself.

As for having high expectations for others, that is just setting yourself up to be disappointed, the way I see it.
I will tell you why I'm never disappointed because I expect people to be assholes, until they prove otherwise of course.

There is no cure for stupidity.

Ignorance doesn't have to be permanent. The cure for ignorance involves a choice to learn, think and be open to new ideas.

I hate people who front

bullshitin' like they don't know what you're talkin'about when you calll them out. they're not stupid. They're pathetic, lying, attention whores that make me want to slap the taste out of their mouth.

Trying to support a friend without going completely off on a wench. Sometimes, it's damn the right thing, clock the poodle-switchin' "oh, oh, see me? see how great I am?"
