About a month or so ago, a female coworker, who I had been working very closely with for a number of months, was laid off. I've kept in touch with her since - letting her know I'd give her a good reference, sending leads her way, etc...

as I've never had a friend in that situation Given how bad the economy is right now I wouldn't be too surprised if it wasn't a money thing.
