Yaaaay!

Let's hear it for unconventional spiders!

Does an unconventional spider go up the water spout?

What a shit day. Glad it's over(ish). The first day back after a long weekend is always rough.

I think maybe that's only singing spiders. Or spiders we sing about.

I had a second day of not so much work, which is YAY.

I used to do transcription work so I remember those days of not observing holidays. (Yeah, I stalked your profile.) Man, I miss working from home...but I also like my health insurance and 401K which my transcription gig did NOT offer so had to make a choice :(

Unknown???

The Fountain Valley Drive-in is built on a Strawberry Field, across the freeway is a private school I attended in the 5th and 6th grade. Farther up to the 5 freeway is a matinee type theater where they wait?

Lucky for Reci I have the health care and retirement account handled. ;)
Although, she does have her own 401k now.

Stalk me baby!

I am inappropriately enthusiastic about such things. If I'm going to get stalkers, I want the good ones.

I read it a few times and I am going to ask to clarify because I can't see where this relates to spiders or Prince, doves or vampires.

Unless this is just random stuff as I requested then yay.

(wiping tears of laughter- still laughing. watched this lot of times and it still tickles me)

Heh. My cat this morning...I get up at about 4:30 and I take a microscopically short bath. I've done this every weekday for years. She usually hangs out on the bath mat or harasses me to turn on the water faucet. This morning she decides she absolutely MUST GET OUT of the bathroom after being in there for about 7 minutes.

"I do this every day."

"YAAAAOOROROW!"

"Every day."

"AYYYAAAAAANROW!"

"Give me a minute."

The cop is hilarious. HANDS AT 2 and 10, man!

modified herpes virus being used to eradicate cancers

i need to find more links: on the news just now they were showing how it's being used to treat skin cancers and with amazing success rates, most disappearing completely.
ah, here: http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...-herpes-to-treat-skin-cancer-and-its-working/

Here's how T-VEC works: It starts with the herpes virus, which is magnificent at proliferating itself within cells and then causing them to burst (that's where the cold sores come from). But T-VEC has had two key genes removed. These keep it from replicating within healthy cells, which can quickly spot it because of the missing genes.

But cancer cells aren't as savvy, and T-VEC has its run of them. Meanwhile, T-VEC has also been modified to produce a molecule called GM-CSF, which serves as a red flag waved at the immune system.

So in addition to the destructive power of the T-VEC cells themselves, the therapy summons the immune system right to where it's needed -- the tumor.

I just saw a report this week for a cancer patient with infected ulcerating lesions that was on treatment for 2 weeks and it had healed.

It is an amazing time for medicine.

Ulaven just found this, too...

Luke Hand - Dean Kamen is a fascinating guy.
