The significant increase in traits like autism could be nothing more than large population growth in large artificial environments, where natural evolutionary pressures have been heavily impacted.

Take bad eyesight, for example. It's a condition that has exploded in the human population.

Not because anything nefarious is causing it, but because natural selection pressures (like predation) have largely prevented that trait from being picked off in a natural way. And then medical technology, like glasses and contacts, compensates further and the underlying trait begins to rapidly spread in the population.

This is just evolution in action. Evolution doesn't pick 'superior' traits on arbitrary metrics. It simply favours whatever traits that have the capacity to stick around long enough to spread the genes.

I feel fortunate that my mother raised my brothers and myself quite well. Apparently the doctor commented to my mother that normally babies lose weight for the first while, but we all just gained it. Told her that whatever she was doing, keep it up.

The study isn't the issue here. The analysis of the study from random Internet bloggers to align with Reichy's bias is the issue.

Multiple studies do associate autism rates with vaccinations. The correlation is certainly a thing that people try to make a case of.

There is no such study that has shown that it is anything more than that.

Vaccines don't cause autism.
