Discuss them here and get some feedback!

I'm stuck on the sequels to "Sergeant's Concubines" and "Ambassador's Life".

Damn. I have both of those on my "Check to see you haven't missed the next chapter" list which I go through monthly.

Then I will have to get unstuck, as soon as I get back from my sister's wedding.

Is it just me, or does this line sound very dirty?

I don't know. In hindsight, I suppose it could sound dirty (in an incest/taboo way), but I don't do engaged women (except for other swingers, which my sister definitely is not) and my sister isn't really my type.

Two series that I should probably get around to doing sequels for are "A Frightful Night's Delight" (about a Succubus siezing control of a house and it's residents) and "The Amulet" (about a young man who unknowingly finds an amulet which imprisons an Incubus, causing all the women around him to throw themselves at him).

Hey Severus, just read through your Ambassador's Life stories. One thing that jumps out at me is how the characters spend all their time having sex or talking about their new world. And while you've got the cool NWO thing going, it's a little bit disconnected from the sex, in my opinion. I'd have the seargeant out experiencing the world a bit more--maybe there's something more to Tabitha's story that causes him to decide to go across the country on a quest for something, and in doing so, you'll not only get to explore this world first hand (rather than simply having your characters talk about it), you'll also get a lot of interesting sexual scenarios. Or maybe she's got something that she needs answered, which he can help out with--a phillip marlow type mystery in your futuristic setting. Don't worry about making sure that the reader has all the details about this world up front. Assume that they're gonna be with you for the ride, and just give them little bits at a time. Great stuff so far, though! You should definitely do some more on it.

Go Lateral

If you're stuck on a sequel, you might try shifting the focus to a secondary or even minor character and develope an entirely different story line involving them. John Jakes had pretty good success doing this in his "North and South" Trilogy.

I have been asked by a few people, to make a sequel to Stupid Cupid. Don't think I will BUT, as far as being stuck on sequels goes, I was given a good idea that might help. Another writer just hit it on the head; try doing it in the form of another smaller characters in the story so that it is a sequel but more loosely linked. I did somethinf similar with my Sweet Home series (and yes for those interested, there is a third in the works) I do each story with a different brother, but the characters from the original, make "cameo" apperances in one another's stories, so it helps to link them all together. Justa thought. :)

Interesting thoughts. Sounds like you read Sergeant's Concubines, not Ambassador's Life, though. And I was preparing people for the sexual shocks, but I think that I can slow it down a little now.

I might do something what you suggested with another character, perhaps a friend of the Sergeant's. It sounds a lot like "Warday" by Whitley Strieber and James Kunetka, but with plenty of sex.
