Anyone know of a set of instructions or sources for a stripper pole? Amfrigger says she'd like to have one in the bedroom. Couple of links suggested you can get everything you need at Home Depot. How bout some help from some of you DIY types?

something round and pole like? would that help?
sounds like fun! let us know how you get on!
do you plan on painting it?
Hx

What about brass hand rails?? I'm sure you could probably get them cut to any length you'd like. Just make sure you have firm anchors on the ceiling & floor. Last thing you need is to be doing a high risk maneuver & have the stripper pole dislodge! I'd definitely make sure it was attached as securely as possible.

Good luck & have fun!

I would get an aluminum fence pole. There are attachments that you can get to screw them into the floor and ceiling, but I don't know the name of that particular piece of hardware.

Please don't ask me how I know this :)

LOL I'd kind of like to know how you would know about this............:D

I'm not telling but the right person could probably tie me up and tease it out of me

LE, brass does sound more comfortable than aluminum, if it's polished it would be a lot smoother, but then there's also upkeep and I'm guessing it would be a lot more expensive. It would have to be sealed and buffed annually (or more, depending on how much use it got :) ). Polishing with a rotary buffer and then sealing with urethane may work well. Anyone else have any suggestions?

My skitten and I, do a fair amout of bondage play in our room and that had got me thinking......................:)

Brass is a good idea. And I know from polishing & sealing brass. (lacquer or tung oil) I own a sailboat.

OK. We went to Home Depot Sunday afternoon and asked for some brass tubing like used on hand and footrails for bars. the guy claimed they didn't have it. Any other ideas on where to buy the stuff. Anybody own a bar?

How about lashing me to the front of that big red engine of yours and working the details out of me..........

I'd like to think I could work more than just the "details" out of you...!

Call me silly but what about a pipe supply house? I mean there is one in every town give them all call and if they don't have it they would know who would..............;)

That's what I suggested in my earlier post! They even seem to have some pretty cool anchors to secure the post to the wall/ ceiling & floor too. Check out that link... they seem to have it all!

Flange!! That's the piece of hardware I couldn't think of the name of. Damn, I'd love to have one of these in my bedroom, but my place is on a local home tour all the time and I really wouldn't want to have to explain this to my neighbors or town council members.........

Let us know if you set this up and how it works for you.

How much do I have to hem and haw about this so I don't look too eager?

No hemming & hawing necessary! I'm there!!!

Thanks to LE for the link. Looks like just the ticket. Ya know, I'm afraid that I order this stuff, set it up, and Amfrigger will make me put on a thong & demo it for her before she'll break it in.

Damn straight! If you build it, your ass will prove that it's safe before I start to swing from it.

I think that this would make a great "How To" Story,
with excerpts (and pics) of the pole in question being used. :D

Edit: Didn't see teh movie clip suggestion before. Even better.

This is definitely not a "This Old House" segment!

But then I'd kill to see some of the lovely ladies of TLC's "Trading Spaces" test buff the brass pole prior to!

Ahhh... the wonderful home improvement ideas you learn on a How To Board!
