Straight Jackets

I am becoming more and more curious about straight jackets. I have been unable to find any information about wearing them. Does anyone have any experience with them (outside of the enforced padded room wearing type of experiences which doesn't interest me). Are they uncomfortable? Do they cut off blood circulation? Can you set them up in such a way that you can get out of them by yourself (without the benefit of Houdini like escape artist skills)? Are they worth the purchase price?

I think the best and cheapest thing to do is take an old jacket and fasten hooks down the sleeves.
