I submitted a story last Saturday and it still hasn't been posted. It usually doesn't take that long. Is there a backlog?

Answer #7897654234  : Yes there is a backlog. It's the "how-to" contest and those stories take precedence on everything else. Otherwise your story would, if approved, show up in 7-10 days.

Lady Cibelle,

I checked the "Site Announcements" area and it didn't say anything about any contest going on or a delay in story posting because of a contest. That's why I asked the question here. I'm sooooooooorrrrrrry that you've had to answer that question several times.

Look at the home page: www.literotica.com - I think you might find the contest announced there.

(site announcements generally have to do with technical matters)

Yes it is announced there but there's no mention that there will be a delay in story postings because of the contest. They've had contests before and it hasn't slowed the site down. Again I'm eternally penitent that I dared ask this question.

Well, I've been posting here for three years (stories, and in the forums), and story postings during contests have always been slower than at other times.

No, they don't mention it, they never have, but then, they give no guarantees about if or when your story will post, either.

for new writers it is tenterhooks.
for semi-experienced writers its tenterhooks with feathers.
For experienced writers its tenterhooks, feathers and a whole lot of oral... LOLOL

Teasing -
It can take a while.
Upwards of 5 days for a first view.
up to five more days to post.

In a way its like giving birth... sometimes its only a few days of build up and then birth... and others it feels like a c-section without drugs.
