I posted my first story to this site. I found that most of the text isn't included in the posting.

How do I correct this? I sent the entire story when I submitted it.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you'd like to email me, my address is:

you would be wise not to leave your email details.
Anyone can contact you via a PM.

Go to the user CP at the top of the page and check to make sure you have PM's turned on. Then send Laurel, the lady who reads and posts all the stories a PM explaining your problem. You will find her name at the top of the page in the sticky section. Just click on it and follow the bouncing pink booby. :D

Welcome to the AH, by the way.

This happened to me in a series. It was the third chapter, and it took three tries to get it right. I submitted it a second time as an *EDIT* with explanation. The third time I PM'd. Total time to fix - four days. Back when stories were going up every three days.

I took a beating on the scores for posting such a lame chapter - only a quarter of a page, and ending mid-paragraph. It's the only chapter that didn't get the coveted red 'H'.

I ended up with about 25 comments and 50K views before I could get a comment in explaining the problem. It went live sometime in the morning, and I didn't catch the error until late that night. I posted the chapter on *********, so the readers wouldn't have to wait any longer, and recovered from about a 3.00 to 4.4.

In retrospect, I should have PM'd Laurel immediately. I was afraid it was somehow my fault in the posting, and reposted instead. After it failed the second time, I sent the PM.

That's my suggestion to you. PM.

Thanks, I sent a PM to Laurel and I'm waiting for a reply. I hope there is a way to prevent this in the future.

I am very disappointed that my computer apparently does not have the "bouncing pink booby" option.

For you, glynndah. :)

Thanks for the useful suggestions.

My story, Ten Day Cruise, finally made it onto the site. Because the first posting was incomplete, the scoring is low.

While I tend to depend more on comments from my readers than from scores, it is disappointing that, through no fault of my own, the scores will never accurately reflect the ratings.

This is my first venture in posting stories on Lit. I have been writing, and posting on other sites, since 2002.

I hope the snafu was a rarity and won't happen again. For now, I'll watch and see if this venue is a good outlet for my writing.
