Personally, I do not at all care for stories that read as though they are speaking to you.

Eg. 'I slipped my whole 8 inches into you and I could tell that you loved it'

Such a perspective demands that as the reader you must take on the role of the character and this doesn't work for me 'cause I know none of this happened or is happening to me.

My favorite perspective is the first person account where the author is telling the story of what happened to herself (himself).

I completely agree. I also dislike those stories that are supposedly happening to me. To me, it seems like the author is TELLING me how I'm supposed to feel, and it just doesn't work. Someone suggested to me that these types of stories are actually cybersex logs or emails to cyber lovers, presented in story form. That seems likely, doesn't it?

I suggested to Laurel that she write the little blurb describing the stories to indicate that they are written in that viewpoint. Thankfully she took my suggestion. Now I can scan the New Stories section and know which ones I will skip.

Jennifer,

I do so agree. First off, half of the stories will be written as if I'm the wrong sex. Now, he may want to "lick my hot, dripping pussy," but I don't have one and never will. The only stories I drop faster than ones using this exceedingly strange perspective are ones that are fantasy (unicorns and such shit), science fiction or TV fiction (how often are those two cute kids from Full House going to get raped?).

Frankly, no wait, that's Jennifer, isn't it?

I prefer stories told in the third person, past tense; he (Bob) said, she (Sue) said, they (Bob, Sue and Frank) did, et. al, and etc.

It more fully allows me to put my imagination into play and fill in any unexplained details.

I guess my stories are written in the I and you tense but I like stories written in any tense as long as they are well done. I imagine if I can feel the story as it happens see it in my mind so to speak then I enjoy it the most! Lily ;)
