Hello, good evening. I'm new to this site, as I'm just getting into sharing my stories and such. Does anyone know what I should do if my story is still pending? Maybe I'm just a little anxious and it's still in the queue. Thanks in advance <3

What @Actingup is trying to tell you is that there are several threads active right now discussing problems with pending stories. Before you start a new thread, it's a good idea to search for existing one. But welcome to the site. The pending story issue is just one many of us are tired of. I have one in pending far longer than 4 days. Some relatively small percentage of stories are getting caught in it. And the site administrators are not good communicators about what is happening, to say the least.

You're right, that's very clumsy of me. Thank you for being so kind. I'll be more attentive!

Lots of us did this for one of our first posts and had someone grouse about it.

One of my frustrations with the pending story issue is that my pending story is a how to for authors new to Literaotica. I see people daily looking for guidance that I would love to be able to point them at the how to. Oh well. It's also a bit ironic to me that @Actingup was on the grumpy side with you. He was one of the ones who was nice to me when I was in your shoes. He really is a good guy.

You only say that because you don't know me well! :) But thank you. And thanks also to @EmilyMiller, since 'good for an Australian' places me right in the upper echelon of the species.

@pipczka, the frustration levels over this issue are very high right now, particularly because the site owners haven't really communicated other than a pinned post here, that while helpful does not address the current issue that many stories seem to be disappearing into a black hole. Much of the discussion in the threads is circling around speculation as to the causes - unfortunately all we can do is speculate.

Also be aware that there there are other frustrations out there, particularly around false (presumably) AI detections as well as more banal things like rejections due to grammar and suchlike. Each issue has a series of threads around it. Good luck navigating the maze! The flip side is that publication here can certainly bring you tonnes of appreciative and thoughtful readers, although not fame and fortune.

My last published story sat in pending for over a month.

I currently have two that are about to enter their 3rd week of pending.

EDIT to add: last published was about 5k word count, the two waiting are approx. 17k and 9k respectively.
