my new story is quite long, but after 14 days of "pending" I wonder how long it will take?
Any idea?

I'm at 8 days so maybe they are having issues or a back logmy new story is quite long, but after 14 days of "pending" I wonder how long it will take?

I'm glad you asked, because I've been wondering the same. (14 days today.) Everything else has gone through in 3-4 days, and a story in a different category went through while 'lesbian sex' was still on hold. I'm guessing it's busy around vacation time, but I'd been wondering if I'd done something wrong.my new story is quite long, but after 14 days of "pending" I wonder how long it will take?

Most likely it has to do with increased scrutiny over possible use of AI for writing.Half a year ago, publishing here went smooth, no longer than three days. Now I wait more than two weeks, and I have lost count of how many times I've sent a message to Laurel. What gives? What have changed? I see more and more threads like this as well, so there are many more with the same issue.
I can understand if it's a new account, but not if you have published before. Most likely it has to do with increased scrutiny over possible use of AI for writing.
Nope, everyone is scrutinised, regardless of their track record. Authors who have been publishing stories here for years have had their stories sent back.I can understand if it's a new account, but not if you have published before.
I think there was a misunderstanding. I meant that it shouldn't be that way. They're losing credibility if this will continue, and authors will eventually find other websites to publish on. I'm not sure if they're trying to save money or what's going on with their policies.Nope, everyone is scrutinised, regardless of their track record. There have been unending discussions about it in the Authors' Hangout. So far Laurel seems to know what she's doing.I think there was a misunderstanding. I meant that it shouldn't be that way. Did it publish eventually? I hit a record of 15 days in pending now. I sent Laurel a message twice, which worked earlier, but not now.my new story is quite long, but after 14 days of "pending" I wonder how long it will take?

Mine went to "New" on the very next day and published the following day, so I think that's 16 days. I could be off by one.Did it publish eventually? I hit a record of 15 days in pending now. I sent Laurel a message twice, which worked earlier, but not now.
This is a possiblity. I know of one in particular where the writer had already published a story a year or two back without a problem. They lost access to that username so registered again and submitted a story again as an exact copy of the original, and it was turned down for using AI.Most likely it has to do with increased scrutiny over possible use of AI for writing.
