I read a story one time named Red Rubber Ball, I think. It was about a guy racing his car against another gangs car and each group put up a girl for the winner, Kind of like "to the victor goes the spoils" . It was a pretty neat story and I would like to read it again if anyone knows anything about it. I think this would make for an interesting story.

Not seen that story but there has to be someone who could shed some light on it if not someone who could write up a story along the lines you want.

I am guessing late 50s early 60s rock and role sort of thing maybe

good luck Lin

i have to say that stories involving women as prizes to be won excite me...i second the notion to write more of them...except i don't know if it was actually brought up, so, uhm, maybe i'm firsting it.

the story I was referring to was very good and I would love to find it but I don't have a clue where on the web it was. The person who wrote it must have had some knowledge about cars because it was very realistic. Also it was actually believable and there wasn't really that much sex. Fast cars, loud music and wild women now that's what I can get into. I would appreciate if anybody knows anything about the story if they would help out. thanks

What does rock 'n roll have to do with race cars?

Haven’t you ever seen Rebel Without a Cause

Jim Stark - "the bad boy from a good family" Dean plays the angst-ridden son of henpecked Jim Backus (Frank Stark) and Ann Doran. He forms a substitute 'family' with girlfriend Natalie Wood (Judy) and timid Sal Mineo (Plato) after a tragic incident - an automobile test-of-nerves dare known as the "chickie run" - has brought them together. Rebel is more than a monument to its star, it's a movie for all time.

This was what i was thinking.

Rock and Roll in the states went along with rebelling and fast cars (for the time)

We have a saying in my country: "taste is like an ass - divided". Meaning that different people have different taste.

With Chicklet on one side of the line, I'll stand far, far away at the other side, thinking that women being prizes in contests is horrible.

Then again, I just don't hav eto read the thing, then...
