Situations such as these -regardless of country- also bring up issues like the ethics of resource allocations.

Resources are always limited. As much as people feel for those worse off than them, there are billions out there. So who do you choose? First come, first served?

For example, after letting in all those young male refugees, many European countries almost exhausted their funds, so they can no longer take others in.
Many of whom are far more vulnerable and face bigger perils than the first wave.

Those that don't show up in court are immediately switched to illegal status and a 'failure to appear' beef is added to their list of transgressions. In all probability they are working the underground economy, also illegally. Not to mention that a goodly many of them are also wanted criminals in their own country.
