We get ads over here everyday, in multitudes and we do have a board for them, and it gets really annoying to have to take turns informing new people that they are in the wrong place when it is so CLEARLY obvious that this IS NOT the place for trying to hook up with some action or whatever it is you seek. Please don't post that you are looking to hook up over here...

GO HERE!

Personals Board

And Good luck. :)

No, you're in the right place for that. You found me, and if I am what you are looking for then the search is over baby! :D

It just occured to my sorry ass that they aren't going to read this. They just jump in and post them and so there is enevitably no end to this plauge.

I guess I'll just have to ignore them then.

So, does that mean that it is okay for us old people to post personals here? If so..

Straight Male, looking for sex in all the wrong places. Addicted to internet porn, rock and roll, and motorcycles. Not incarcerated, but very very bored! See my sigline for some of my kinks. :p

Is that a BMW?
Yup - the new Oilhead GS Adventure with more suspension travel and a much larger tank. I don't like the bags as they are probably very fragile, but they are optional. This is my bike, a bit older, but a lot simpler, and in some respects better off-road:

Very cool. I've never done off-road. Have had several street bikes, (all though these are street legal as well right?) mostly sport bikes. I had a bf who had a BMW Boxer, that thing vibrated so bad...

I would love to have a Duck or even just a VFR, but I can't ride sport bikes anymore - the riding position kills my back and knees. The GS is just a slightly modified street bike made for sport touring and some occasional off-pavement or even off-road riding. At 450to 520 pounds, there is no mistaking them for a dirt bike like my other bike: http://www.dr350.fslife.co.uk/images/geromiller.jpg

That is not me or my bike, but close enough.

He must not have had it tuned well. When properly synch and tuned, the Boxer is a very smooth bike. Not as smooth as multi-cylinder inline bikes with counter balancers as most sport bikes are, but very a very smooth natural balance for a non-counter-balanced twin. If you've ever ridden a Duck, the Beemers can be even smoother.

The VFR 750 would work for your back and knees, all you'd have to do is drop the pegs and raise the bars. It's one of the most comfortable bikes I've ever been on. It's even comfortable for the passenger (not an easy thing on a sportsbike) The late 90's YZF's say 97-98 ish are also very comfortable almost a full upright seating position. I think the biggest problem with the Boxer was California law, damn emissions on bikes.

It might work for someone of a more normal size, but I am 6'6" tall (hence the name Shy Tall Guy), and the VFR doesn't work for me - I've sat on a friend's VFR, and even with barbacks it wouldn't work. Even the Duck ST2/ST4 won't work for me - much to my dismay, I would really like to own a Ducati someday.

I believe all of the new Beemers have Cats, Boxer or not, but a lot of people just remove them. The problem was/is that they sometimes suffer from surging like many other EFI bikes - mostly due to their very lean setup. There are easy fixes though. Personally, I am waiting for the KTM LC8, but even if I get one, I may go ahead and get an Oilhead GS too for general touring. My Airhead is fine, but the Oilhead is more ergonomic, handles better (except off-road), and has more power. Right now I am just going to ride my Airhead until I get a job.
