Has anyone read this one?

I think it's the best King book I've read to date. Definitely the best book I've read in the past couple of years.

I couldn't put it down, gave myself a migraine squinting at the tiny print in bad light and had to ring in sick at work. Fuck it, it was worth it.

Only wish I'd bought the lovely hardback edition.

No, but you got my attention. What's it about?

I am a fucking twat, I just realised I never said.

It's about a guy who goes back in time to try and stop the assassination of Kennedy. He jumps back and forth to begin with and each time he goes through the "hole" it's a reset.

I think it's his best.

Sounds a bit like a recent movie..8 Seconds...8 Minutes or some such.

it didn't disappoint, and had some unanticipated twists.

there've only been a couple of king's i wasn't keen on. he is one of my favourite go-to reads.

I've been looking for a good read and I haven't read King in years. But the historical fiction really caught my eye and had to go look it up on wiki.

I used to love him then I think he went off the boil a tad. I read a few I wasn't that keen on which put me off him for a while. I didn't expect to like this one as much as I did though.

And the love story running through it was sweet too.

One of my favourite books has a very similar device - Replay (novel) wiki
you might like it too, even though it's no Stephen King. It's about a man who inexplicably keeps reliving the same 25 years between the 60's and 80's, but with a reset every time.

That sounds intriguing. Might give it a bash. Thanks for the tip!

It was a great read and got me back to reading King again after a long hiatus.
It could have been 200 pages shorter, I suppose, but King does such a good job developing characters the length is not too annoying. But the time he spent between leaving the teaching job and getting to November '63 did seem to bog down a lot.
Since then I've gone back and read Under the Dome, Cell, Bag of Bones and 'Salem's Lot, which I'd read before but wanted on my Kindle. Now I'm working on Desperation.
All of the books were fun, though Bag of Bones dragged at the end, so much so that I was skipping whole pages while the hero wrestled with not killing the little girl. I knew he wouldn't kill her, and the writing had become overwrought.
But, yeah, 11/22/63 was a great read,

Now I'll recommend The Passage by Justin Cronin to you. It will make you call in sick.

I loved Desperation. Bag of Bones I struggled with, as I did with Lisey's Story. Salem's Lot is a classic. Not read Under the Dome though my colleague at work (who has the same tastes as me) says it's shite which puts me off a bit.

I have The Passage somewhere on my shelves but haven't picked it up yet.

King hasnt written a decent book since IT and IT's 600 pages too long.

Bluntforcemama gave it to me for my birthday, and I LOVED it. It's the first of his books I've enjoyed in years, and I definitely think it's one of his best.

Also, I second the recommendation for "The Passage". In fact, I need to read it again to prepare for the next in the series coming out next month.

lisey's story's one of the rare few i didn't enjoy - i didn't even go beyond the halfway mark. The Stand is my fave oldie, though the gunslinger series tops everything imo. under the dome is the last of his i read, and recently, and i think you owe it to yourself to give it a go... if you don't enjoy it, you've only lost a few hours. if you like it, think what you'd have missed.

I do love all his oldies. Tempted to dig out The Shining now for old times sake. I will give Dome a try then, will wait a while though after reading such a ripsnorter, praps a biog as the next fiction will seem so dull! :(
