30 years past peak oil, gasoline engines may be only on motorcycles and similar small machines with high power to weight and maneuverability on rough terrain. Energy cost includes road construction and maintenance. Biodiesel, wood alcohol, coal, and wood thrown in a steam engine may run the bigger machines. Energy laws then may be less what to burn and more who is allowed to have some.
