Flipping through the channels I landed on a Latin station. I surely been missing out. The Latin station has a lot of hot babes. I Flipped and saw this banner behind a panel of America's Black Religious Leaders.

OMG! Minister Farrakhan "Watch out naw, I'm a Baptish Preach too"

He had been sitting waiting his turn to speak. The Prenston Professor and Author of "Race Matters", Cornel West said his peace and then Travis Smiley (radio host and MC of the event) looked over at Minister Farrakhan and the audiance new he had something to say.

I got up from my computer to hear him speak.

Let me ask you this. How many of you feel that you make an effort or have in the past to make African American? You might dislike Minister Farrakhan, but I bet you would have agreed with what he had to say. "Black people are free, but their minds continue to be inslaved" this was very profound and struck me as all so true.

You can check it out on CSPAN held in Atlanta. The first part is over.

The speakers include:
Major Archer
Bishop Eddie Long
Angela Gover Blackwell
Prof. Cornel West
Jehmu Greene
Patricia Ford
Rev. Joseph Lowery
Dr. Elders
Rev. Sharpton
Rev. Jessie Jackson Senior
Raymond Brown Attorney
Constance Rice

"Collective Niggadom" ?????

Should thrashing out gay/lesibian rights be done first, because it is a wedge in American politics?

I hear Cornel West, speaking, quite a bit. Intelligent and thoughtful man.

I happened upon the last hour or so of the program. I usually tune him out when he goes off on one of his "19" tangents, but he managed to stay on course for the part I saw, and I found it quite amusing when Louis Farrakhan said "To hell with the Democratic party." It's long overdue that this was said, and equally sad that large blocks of people have their votes taken for granted by a party that has no interest in anybody of any race, and only exists for the benefit of their own interests.

Oh, and "To hell with the Republican Party" as well, but at least they make no pretense on being the party of the average person.

Also amusing to hear Messers. Sharpton and Farrahkan speaking with the aura of the golden arches logo over their shoulders. Certainly something you wouldn't have seen even ten years ago.

Anybody now who Carl Row is?

Karl Rove is the strategist behind the George Bush presidency. Really good at running smear campaigns and playing the gay card.

I think he's an author, but I'm not positive...

Yep, Karl Rove.

He's the jackass that said Social Security is in trouble. The President of AARP says it the only thing in our system that's not in trouble. It's because the government can't touch it. Imagine that....

If this program is not recorded in its entirity, somebody needs to be in serious trouble. It awesome. I was just LMAO! The gentleman explained "Niggadom"

I knew what he talking about. Years ago it was called "Blackness".

I bought his book years ago, "Race Matters" and Corey Booker just said that he told Minister Farrakhan that he was gay. He said Farrakhan replied, "I love you". Something is clearly bigger than Farrakhan with this issue, you think?

Okay....there is a Carl Row who is an author....very different from Karl Rove.

I was trying to type while I listening to the program on CSPAN. It's on now. It was my error about the name.

Didn't catch it, though I wish I had now. Problem with things like that is they're carried on such channels, which the majority of Americans don't watch, and they aren't advertised in a manner in which we're made aware of them.

That's the beauty of CSPAN. They just put these things on, without comment or slant, and let the viewers decide whether it's worth anything. Put advertising in there, and the whole thing changes.

You are so right. It just went off, but it will be replayed on CSPAN at 8pm.

Here is something that all here should understand. African American people have not been represented farely by African American people. They are voicing that they do not identify with the Democrated Party. "Come to me in your our of need, but still ignore my needs altogether."

LOL...some of the comments would have gotten beeped

CSPAN is kicking right now. African Americans are saying that.

This is what I just heard:

To white people - "Don't be afraid to be called a racist. Let them call you what ever they will. Stand up for what is right."

The thing I found most revealing on Sharpton was an independent, non-party review of candidate average per-night hotel expenses during the campaign. Bush's were like seven or eight hundred dollars per night - not surprising given security - the rest ranging from five hundred to one hundred. And then there was Al Sharpton - weighing in at nearly 2500 per night.

Campaign funding well spent?

I don't think most understand that (that they've been unfairly represented).

The reason that people don't understand is that everybody is scrambling to be part of the crowd. Belong. Be a member. Whether it is Republican or Democrat, liberal/conservative, pro-life/pro-choice, gun/anti-gun, drug/anti-drug,... everybody scrambles to be part of the crowd. They feel prowd to say, "I'm a Brit/American/Gay/NRA member/...", yet what the hell does that have to do with who they really are?

The individual is not prized. People wear a "Metalica" t-shirt or put a pro-choice bumper sticker on their car more to be recognized and appreciated by others of that group than any other reason. (Did a t-shirt/bumper sticker ever change your mind about something?)

Dammit where'd that soap box come from? I'm just saying, people tend not to see that blacks are not represented by those leaderships/groups because they are too busy trying to be in their own group (and stitching much of their own self worth to that membership). As a result, because they think Hillary Clinton or GW is cool and represents them, these guys (Sharpton, et al) must represent you.

"Americans are obsessed with sex and fearful of black sexuality."

The first sentence, in the first paragraph of Chapter 7 page 119 of "Race Matters" by Cornel West

CSPAN is showing the Irish getting into it now, talking about peace.

Gosh, I'm working on a story called "American Conspiracy" I hope that it will get some people up in arms. It's about some of the day to day issues that weres on the human soul.

I'll try to catch the repeat.

My best friend and hunting partner is Black and he absolutely loathes Louis Farakhan and isn't real happy that Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and others of their ilk are considered spokespeople for Blacks.

I think my friend would agree that African Americian haven't been well represented by African Americans when Farakhan, Sharpton, and Jackson are considered their leading representatives.

I understand the obsessed with sex thing, but gotta admit, the rest of that sentence just confuses the shit outta me. Aren't we all human?

That's a misrepresentation right there. What does being black have to do with your individual sexuality?

Heck no! Men are from Mars and women are from Venus.

The next sentence says: The obsession has to do with a search for stimulation and meaning in a fast-paced, market-driven culture;

Don't get a crook in your neck. It has to be taken in the context of the book that I took in from.

You would hope so, but not to look at some of the stories in the "interracial" category. I think the man has got to have a point when that category exists?
