A black Union veteran of the Civil War and a bigoted sheriff protect a western town from a band of outlaws

In my head I have a story about a black Union veteran of the Civil War. As a bounty hunter he rides into a town because he expects it to be attacked by a band of outlaws. Nearly everyone in the town treats him with contempt, because of his race. This includes the sheriff. Eventually the town is protected by the lone gunman and the sheriff. They become friends.

The sheriff becomes the Union veteran’s best man when he is married to a black girl in the town. Because the sheriff was badly wounded in the showdown where he and the black guy killed all the outlaws, the bounty hunter becomes the new sheriff of the town.

I am sure stories like that really happened back then. They should be told now.

The story came to me spontaneously. After awhile I realized that it had been inspired by In the Heat of the Night, with Sidney Poitier, "High Noon," with Garry Cooper, and "For a Few Dollars More," with Clint Eastwood. Those ideas came together in my subconscious mind and lead to the idea.

I have written the beginning of it, but I have not finished it.

Not real sure about what you're seeking. I think the premise of your idea is very interesting. However, it doesn't include any mention of the erotic content. Is this something you are planning to publish here on Lit? Do you see any room in the story for erotic content?

I have one western themed story, but it relies on a love developing between the "outlaw" and a brothel owner for the erotic content and love relationship.

Due to the sheriff's wounds, he is no longer able to satisfy his wife in bed. He asks his best friend, the bounty hunter, to fuck his wife for him. While he watches.

But it's a small town, and word soon gets around. Lots of the townsmen would rather hang around the saloon drinking and playing cards than spend time with their frontier wives, so soon the bounty hunter has LOTS of wives to satisfy. He changes his profession from Bounty Hunter to Booty Hunter.

The story would not be pornographic. None of the stories I have posted here have been pornographic. My story would also lack obscene words. If it was made into a movie it would be rated PG-13 for violence.

You could put it in the Non-erotic category. It's not a huge category, but the readers there are generally reasonable and will accept such a story.

P.S.: I have one story in Non-erotic and it did fairly well. I wasn't in the mood to sign up for some other site just for that.
