which dildo???

I wanna get my girl her first dildo. I'm looking at the following two. Any suggestions on which size would be most suitable? The first one (purple) is 7 inches long and 1.5 inches wide. The second one (yellow) is 6.5 inches long and 2 inches wide.

She's not into anal and she's tried vibes before and they don't do it for her. So this would be for vag only, at least to begin with.

The comments on the website were very positive for both. A lot of people mentioned that the purple one is good for anal. So would that mean it's not so good for vag?

Any suggestions? is there really much difference?

thanks heaps

Which does SHE like and think would feel best?

I like girth over a lot of length and something that is firm enough and shaped well to get my g-spot, but my preferences don't really matter to your gf.

Most of the people commenting on anal are men, from what I can tell. IMO, they're not smart to buy an overpriced jelly dildo for that, nor are you for any purpose unless you're planning on using a condom on it every time. Jelly can't be sterilized like silicone, glass, metal and some vinyls/plastics, so you can't use it for both vaginal and anal sans condom, so forget that idea. Plus, most jelly toys contain pthalates, which are irritating to many and have been shown to be a health risk.

If I were intent on buying jelly and not using condoms, I'd find the same thing/similar for a fraction of the price elsewhere (eBay's Mature Audiences section hasn't let me down yet) so I wouldn't be out so much when it started to break down or caused irritation.

And, no, just because people like it for anal, doesn't mean it can't be used for vaginal. Again, you just can't use the same toy for both unless it can be sterilized or you're itching for very nasty vaginal infections.

So you're saying I'd be better off finding something 100% silicone instead?

Thanks for the info, very useful.

So you're saying I'd be better off finding something 100% silicone instead? I have no specific reason to want jelly except that I think something soft would be the best choice for a first timer. There won't be any anal involved so that won't be an issue. None the less I would think that sterilizability (is that a word?) is a desirable characteristic in a dildo. So I should steer clear of jelly.

Thanks for the info, very useful.

If pure silicone is in your budget, that's likely your best bet for a happy medium between a softer toy and cleanliness, but glass, metal and some plastics can be sterilized as well (we pop our vinyl hitachi attachments in the dishwasher, and our butt plugs can be sterilized in a bleach solution, for instance). A lot of women report LOVING the harder materials because they can be heated up, cooled down, are smooth and great stimulators.

Again, check eBay for toys of these other materials, and you'll likely end up spending the same, or just a little more, for pure silicone (beware that something only has to have 10% silicone to be labelled a "silicone" toy here) or other higher quality materials that you would have those jelly dildos.

You can get jelly if you want, but I thought I'd let you know about the downsides. The fact that it's very cheap (A&E and similar retailers mark toys up several hundred to thousand percent in most cases) and soft are the upside.

If you have the money, I would say go with glass all the way. IMO, nothing is better for penetration. It's easy to clean and you can warm it up or cool it down for some interesting play with sensations.

My glass dildo was the best money I have ever spent.

You'll find better prices here than at the site you mentioned.

Here's another good place for silicone, glass and other types of toys. Sign up for their newsletter and you'll get reports from their toy testers, book and video reviewers!

I have to agree with SweetErika that which one you get is a personal preference. My partner prefers length to width, SweetErika goes with girth over length and the true size queens want both. Your GF is the one to decide which one pushes the right buttons. Straight, curved, smooth, rippled, hard, pliable. I'm continually amazed that the sextoy industry can find so many different ways to present a phallic object. Not that I'm complaining.... :nana:

Experimenting to find the right one is at least half of the fun.

Thanks heaps for the info guys. Really useful. I'm thinking 100% silicone is a good place to start. The glass is definitely interesting but I'm not sure it's the go for a first timer.

thanks again.

can you advice me the best way to start inserting plesureble things in my arse iam50 and bi but have never done anything like this can any one advice me what to start with and how to do it iam in the uk thanks

Click Me and read the advice under "Anal" (though there may be something under "Toys" as well). The procedure for anal sex and toys is just about the same, though you'll want to make sure you use toys that won't get sucked up in there/stuck, harm the delicate lining of the rectum and are otherwise safe and sane.

I started to love anal about a yr ago, bought some plugs, small vibes, ben wa balls, a nice 8" strapon, I really love it all, best thing I did was start small, use alot of lube and take my time. Now I'm dying to have a woman use a strapon on me..

SweetErika - great link to a great thread. Three is an answer to every question.

thanks,

I agree with the choice of silicone, most of the lower priced (plastic, latex, and jellies) can sometimes cause irritations, or burning. That is not what you want for your gal. You must remember that eventhough you will get the visual satisfaction from using the toys on her. It is really all about her pleasure, which makes for more frequent lovemaking sessions for you both. the wife and I highly recomend the silicone dildos from fun factory - Patchy Paul and the Heartbreaker. Both are very reasonable on size ( not to big -- not to small) have excellent quite vibes, and are 100 percent medical grade silicone. they also have the pronounced g spot curve. my gal loves um. (props to Mr.G ) yes they are a little more expensive but worth it in the long run.
You might also want to look at the cyberskin or fauxskin type dildos. They are also alittle more expensive and require more matinence ( as far as cleaning and storage ) but once again are worth it, the wife says they feel like the real deal. In short. if it makes for a more comfortable more enjoyable experience for her, it means more sexy fun for you both.. get it.
