I was watching Star trek The Future Begins, thinking how much I enjoyed the movie when it first came out. The I thought I should go see the new one. Then I recalled I already had. Then I started thinking how much fun it would be to fuck Zoe Saldana.

So on further thought, I did like Into darkness, but it was not nearly as good as the first one.

Questions/concerns?

I'm concerned that the door to your thread squeaks when you open it. Graphite spray?

Fun, lots of flashy stuff and 'splosions, but so painfully dumb. They tried to get too cutesy about hiding the bad guy's identity leading up to the movie. Either own up to it being Khan or make him a rogue agent of some kind. Nothing makes any damned sense.

Scotty and Bones are my favorites. The women are spectacular.

We're never going to get a true sci-fi based Star Trek again.

Funny because I hated bones in the original tv series but he is the best character here....IMP

I didn't see the 2009 reboot, so I was a little surprised that McCoy was sidelined so much in this film--presumably beefing up Uhura's character because of pressure to have a stronger female presence. Bones doesn't do much but deliver laugh lines, and he had more to do in past incarnations.

I thought the movie was pretty decent. I don't regard Star Trek as sacred text or anything, so I don't come in with many expectations or demands. It doesn't aspire to be much besides a popcorn film, and mission accomplished.

I fucked her. It was alright. She didn't move much and expected me to do all the work. I figured it was some sort of narcissistic entitlement that is common in the entertainment industry. I will say she was pretty tight.

JJ Abrams has screwed up Star Trek and he will do the same for Star Wars

Star Trek great stories were from the shows not the movies.

they were great for you because you attach sentimental value.
but like almost all science fiction from the 60's and 70's, it just doesn't hold up. the technology of today is obviously far greater and more ubiquitous and powerful than what they imagined back then, and that has to be taken into account in a contemporary narrative.

Partialy that but screw the special effects.

That is not what made ST or DW great.

The original dealt with racial, political and social issues
so TNG and DS9

If you are interested in technical effects go watch garbage like the Matrix or World War Z

yeah, that's great, but that preachy/philosophical shit makes for boring ass movies. that's kinda why roddenberry got put on the backburner after the "motion picture."

I don't know. He kissed Ohara...that's not exactly Rosa on the back of the bus material. Besides, I would guess that shock/ratings was a bigger driver.

The reboot was more than just flash and bang. The way they set it up for a whole new series by alternate the timeline was smart. The casting was brilliant as was the acting.... IMO

We differ in that, I thought the acting sucked. I'll admidt nostalga.

Shatner and Nicholos was the first interacial kiss in U.S television history, they deal with racial genocide, environmental aspects the cold war.

O.K maybe that can't translate into the movies for the short attention viewer. But the first three Star trek series were better than any one of the movies on balance.

Uhura kissed Christine Chapel two years before she kissed Kirk.

I know! Manu is way behind.

I will say that other actresses have gone the other way and were really eager to please out of a desperate need for attention and approval. That's pretty awesome!

Haven't seen it yet, I will rent it when it comes out and most likely buy it if I really like it.
