Verzul leaned back into the synthmesh of his pilot's chair, gently easing the slender emerald frame of the Carillion into a lazy descent toward the hulking black form of the asteroid ahead. Thoughtfully chewing his lower lip, he pushed back a strand of his wavy hair which had fallen over his brown eyes due to the pull of the Carillion's grav-train. Expertly manipulating the maneuvering controls, he landed the ship exactly two point three klicks away from the silvery form of an abandoned mining base. Hopefully, there'd be enough to salvage in there to make this trip out to this distant system worth it.

Suiting up for exo, he called back to his partner in mischief, rousing her from her light reverie.

"Ready, Miss Snoozy? I'm hoping we can clean this place out in under six hours, because we only have enough air for eight"

Luna had been relaxing it was all perfect to, but then her partner woke her up and groaned a little bit. She had been having a nice simple rest and this was annoying. She stretched a bit as she sighed slowly getting up and walking over to her partner. Placing her hands on her hips she looked annoyed but knew t hat she had to get moving. She just hated to be woken up from such a peaceful sleep. But looking around she sat down and stretched out a little bit, thinking about a few other things.

Grinning at Verzul "You know calling me Miss Snoozy is a way to get smacked when you wake me from my beauty rest " She chuckled and crossed one long slender leg over the other and sat back just wondering about what would happen today, looking at her friend she could not help but care for him. "So what is the deal with this place know anything about it?"

Verzul smiled at his partner. He'd known Luna for about five years, off-and-on, but they'd only been adventuring together for two. He did know, very well, that teasing her about her beauty sleep was a good way to get smacked, and he also knew that with all of her biomechanical augmentations, that smack would probably hurt a fair bit. He couldn't resist teasing her though.

"Derelict station, abandoned for at least thirty Terran orbits. Any combination of refined rare ore, power crystals, credit slips or corp infochips would make this worth it. The usual enviro hazards of radiation and toxic spill, maybe a vacuum breach somewhere. Probably no hostiles, but that's why I have your tincan butt around, yes?" he cheekily answered.

She looked at him and narrowed her eyes "Watch it Verzul or I may throw you out the air lock" She chuckled a bit. Though she looked completely human, no creases in her skin. But her eyes was what gave it away, they were like mirrors. Brushing her black hair over her shoulder she sighed a bit and began to run a scan on the station making sure everything was in order. Looking up her eyes even scanned the ship, sending information into her head and smiled a little bit. Looking at her partner she nodded.

"Well let's do this yes?"

"Very yes!" he responded with relish. Securing his helmet's airseals, he took a moment to check Luna's for her, probably a redundant action given her tactical datafeed from the smartsuit, but one he felt compelled to do for this steely-soft companion.

Tossing her a repulsorboard, he closed off the airlock, then lowered the boarding ramp. One quick hop above the narrow board and he darted off across the pocked surface of the asteroid, confident that Luna was directly behind him.

Arriving at the massive blast doors securing the station's entrance, Verzul took a moment to jack his handcomp into the security port. A dull blurt and flashing red from the device's screen indicated that gaining access this way would be unlikely. Fortunately, they had multiple avenues of egress.

"You're up Lady Mirroreyes," Verzul said, moving swiftly away from the doors and ducking compactly behind a wide spur of rock.

Luna smiled walking behind him, she looked around making sure that there were no weapons or what not. Taking a deep breath as he smiled a little bit, everything was just perfect in that moment. As they came up to the doors she heard what he said, scanning the door in front of her she took a deep breath. Her eyes looked around her to see a source of power, since she found it she knew she had to open up the doors. Problem is this always ended with a very big bang, making sure Ver was hidden.

Placing her hand out in front of her as a screen appeared before her eyes, one that could not be seen by anyone but her, she began to type in some codes. She heard something move, and kept adding in codes, then a virus that she had created. The ground started to shake right under her and then an explosion accrued, she had over ridden systems and it slowly forced the doors open, smoke and dust swirling all over the place, looking at her partner she nodded to him.

Verzul swept a light into the yawning gape of the blast doors' remnants, and satisfied that there were no immediate hazards in the entryway, stepped through into the station.

Kneeling in a corner, he maintained a defensive position with his needler drawn, and vocoded for Luna to pass ahead of him by Tac-com. Knowing her, she'd probably not leapfrog to just within his cover, and he'd scramble to keep up.

But at least I get to see that slinky ass wiggle under her smartsuit from here he thought, before he brushed the notion aside. They had a good thing going here, both in their working relationship and their genuine friendship, and he didn't need to mess it up by being stupid.

She nodded to Verzul and walked on ahead she was able to pull up the blue prints of the area in her head and was able to see everything, looking at chemical readings which came out just fine. She did not notice how fast she was moving but it did not really matter to her. She found no life signs but there own which was good. She smiled a little bit as she looked back for her partner knowing she was way ahead so she decided to just stand there and looked for her partner and grinned a little bit when she finally saw him.

"Slow Poke" she teased

"Hey now, I'm just a poor ol' algae-farm boy from the Colonies, not to mention I'm just puremeat," Verzul panted through his helmet encoder as he caught up.

"The refinery should be at the end of this corridor, why don't you head down there and check for any tradebars of Rhenium or Lutetium since you can sniff chems?" he said, dividing up their mission as efficiently as ever.

"I'll head over to the mainframe and see if they left any data worth selling, holler if you buzz any bogeys or such," he called over his shoulder, turning to head in the opposite direction.

She rolled her eyes at him and chuckled a little bit "Hey I like the farm boy you are" She said and heard what he said. She could not help but laugh at what he said and began to do just that, she was testing for the chemicals and she read nothing. Which was kind of strange, but she just shrugged her shoulders and tested over every inch of the place and sighed a little bit. She headed to the main frame once she was done and looked at him. And smiled a little bit in his direction as she placed her hands on his shoulders.

"Anything?"

"There's a little something, yeah. One of the station techs must have hidden a personal stash inside this server rack," Verzul said, brandishing a fistful of creditslips.

"There was also exactly one power crystal still in plastiwrap, and I think there may be something interesting in these drives," he continued, fingers flying over the dataslate of the room's terminal.

Just as he teased the edge of the intrusion countermeasures, they heard a juddering and creaking from elsewhere in the old derelict, followed by a horridly uncanny set of skittering and clattering noises.

"No life scans, right Luna?" Verzul asked, reaching to arm an anti-mechanical grenade.

Luna watched him and nodded to what he said, it was rather nice to be able to know someone had her back. Her hand still on his back, she always had feelings for her friend but never wanted to screw up the relationship. But never knew how deep she felt for him, sighing a bit she nodded her head letting him know there are no life signs but there own. Her eyes looked around and her heart began to race, like something was up. Watching him, she had to say something about her feelings on the situation.

"Be careful something does not feel right"

The treasure-hunter slid open the blast door just a crack, and eased out a periscope to take in the view. Withdrawing a blackening husk instead of an optical instrument, he was satisfied that there were, indeed, security drones coming down the hall for them.

"Shields up, Mirrorshades, I wouldn't want this popper to fry any of your electricals," he called out to his partner as he tossed the antimechanical out the door.

"After it blows, wait 300 millisec then go toast 'em!"

She nodded to him and she put her shields up and waiting the time, she began to use her overload on them causing them to malfunction. She hated it when she was right about places, it really sucked big time. Her heart pounding and needed to get her friend out of there, since he could easily die. So taking his hand she tried to rush him out, things rushed in her head about all the times they shared together and this was one she never wanted to share, the danger any way. She made sure to go at his pace.

One by one the security droids which hadn't made it out of the incapacitating radius of his grenade's blast teetered and tottered helplessly before they erupted from internal power overload. No matter how many times he saw it, he was still impressed.

He was about to say something when she clasped his own hand in her dainty little one, the small hand he'd personally witnessed pulverizing tank-sized battledroids into scrap, and pulled him along. He grabbed the strap of the power-crystal cube as she tugged insistently, it alone would make this trip worthwhile, and the spare creds were a decent added bonus.

He knew he was also in for a lecture when they were back at the ship, but he didn't really mind. Truth be told, he was secretly thrilled that she was so jealously possessive and protective of him, but that was something better left unsaid.

They reached their repulsorboards at the station's entrance, then mounted them and zipped back to the Carillion.

Once aboard, Verzul sealed the hatches, then started powering up the engines as he turned to his elegant and deadly partner. Her frowning, smoldering pout made it clear that there would be words, so he tried to defuse the situation somewhat.

"Thanks for the cleanup back there Luna, you smoked those bots in nothing flat"

Everything was moving so quick, she had him to protect. Sure she could be destroyed since she did not have that many enhancements and once they got on she was panting heavily as she leaned her back against the wall, placing her hands on her knees as she thought for a moment she had lost him. The way she looked at Verzul did show she was upset, but then glad at the same time that he was okay. If something happened to him she would have been crushed, but looking a him she tilted her head to the side.

For the first time ever she now realized how much she did care for him, it was not just friendship she felt but honest love. She may have been enhanced but her mind was organic as well as her soul and her heart. She walked up to him and just wrapped her arms around him, burying her face against his shoulder and for the first time she began to cry silently. But it was easy to tell she was crying because her shoulders were shaking. If she had lost him, then everything would have been destroyed.

"I was so afraid of losing you, I guess you don't realize how much you love someone until this shit happens" She said looking back into his eyes, not surprised she said she loved him he needed to know.

Amazingly, the expected torrent of chastisement and scolding didn't manifest itself in the least. Instead, she walked up to him, as he saw himself exactly in the twin mirrors of her eyes, and squeezed him. He leaned over and smelled the clean scent of her shiny hair as she lay her head on his shoulder. He brought up his own hands and hugged her back, hard, still not really believing that this small, soft creature before him was a deadlier weapon than all the ship's assault batteries. He felt her tremble, was she...crying?

Then, she dropped a pocket nuke on him.

"I was so afraid of losing you, I guess you don't realize how much you love someone until this shit happens"

He was stunned for a minute, then responded in the only way appropriate to the situation. He reached down to Luna's delicate chin, lifted it with a finger, and kissed her deeply.

The salt tang of her re-routed lachrymose glands confimed it. She had been crying. Crying because she was afraid of losing him, because she loved him. He wanted to say it back, but then he'd have to stop kissing her. Maybe in an hour or two.

Luna could not help herself with crying, everything around her the world almost crumbled and fade away. But feeling his arms around him she was happy that he was holding her, it was amazing how much everything started to fade when she looked into his eyes. And when he kissed her, her eyes went wide but she kissed him back swiftly. Closing her eyes as she kissed him, holding him even closer. It felt amazing, and realized he felt the same about her, which was rather nice really. Taking a deep silent breath once the kiss stopped.

Her mirrored eyes looked into his and stroked his cheek, she did not want anything bad to happen to him. It was bad enough he could die easily, yet she was more of a weapon then anything. But this weapon wanted him to be breathing, to be able to walk and talk and do other normal human activities. And without him she would have been nothing, that much she knew for sure and that scared the hell out of her. She did not know what he would say if anything, so she just looked into his eyes and waited.

Her pale hand rested lightly and coldly on his brown cheek, and her even, reflective gaze lay steadily upon him. Now he could talk, and he really had a lot to say, though it was possible that vox wasn't a sufficiently high-bandwidth medium for all that he had to convey.

"I love you too Luna. I think I have since the day we met, but I was so afraid to tell you"

A kiss, then a pause.

"This is so crazy. We have such a good thing going already with the salvage and the bounties, and I want a deeper relationship with you so badly but I'm afraid of losing even the sight of you snoozing through hyperflight. How are we going to manage this? Where's it going to end up?"

Another kiss.

"But you're in love with me! You, in love, with me. I've wanted to hear those words for so long, so badly."

Luna heard what he said and then returned the kiss he gave her, it was amazing really. And hearing everything he had to say she just smiled at. Squeezing his hands as she silently sighed a bit and when she looked into those eyes of his, it was rather nice to be able to not worry now that she was here with him. But he did have a good point, about what was to happen to them. Luna began to think about what they could possibly. Relaxing against her it was just a wonderful moment between the two.

"We will manage Verzul we always do"

Well, that finely-detailed and carefully-plotted course of action would surely be exactly the route they should take through the twisting path of love. If she was happy with it, he wouldn't argue the point.

He pulled Luna over to his pilot's chair, and took her down into his lap as he seated himself upon the synthmesh. He shifted slightly, the swell of his passion pressing up through his jumpsuit in a way he hoped his partner wouldn't find offensive. Not breaking his kiss with the lovely cybernymph for a moment, he palmed the launch controls through sheer muscle memory.

The dark crags of the asteroid fell away in the viewport to yield only the inky black depths of deep space, but Verzul had eyes only for the languid shimmering pools of metal dancing before his face, and had time only for Luna's hot kiss.

Luna felt him move and she moved right with him, it was a nice moment to be with him, but as the kiss got hotter she let out a soft moan. And that mean sitting down on his lap while he was resting on the chair. Smiling happily as she relaxed a bit into him. But then she kissed him deeply and was beyond happy right then and there. But the kiss happened again just letting him lead her since she had never done this with anyone, and she had butterflies in her stomach. Stroking his cheek with much love there.

Verzul pressed his mouth firmly against Luna's, pulling her closely and holding her tight. The swelling in his lap was growing to proportions he probably wouldn't be able to ignore soon, but for now he was just happy to have this girl with him to touch and to hold.

He moved a hand up behind her head to stroke her silky hair.

Luna felt him swelling and grinned in the back of her mind, she moaned into the kiss he was giving her and feeling his hand go behind her head she groaned even more enjoying each moment of this. She wanted him and it was easy to see that he wanted her as well, which made her feel really good about herself.

Moving his left hand off her back, he reached out and activated the auto to take them to the system's edge, then killed the grav-train. As the weightlessness of space filled the ship's interior, they slowly floated off the chair, then Verzul kicked a wall to send them drifting down towards his cabin.

The autodoors slid open to reveal the small space, and a push off the ceiling sent them into the receptive grasp of his bunk's gel mattress. He lifted his face off her's, and quietly requested something.

"Luna, I want to see you. All of you. Don't worry about where your metal starts or hiding any of it. You cannot be anything other than beautiful to me," he said.
