I am going to my first weekend event, and I am nervous.

I will be attending alone, and i am also unattached, so i am looking for suggestions on how to say "no", but in a tactful submissive way, and what if I want to say..."maybe later"?

I have three outfits so far...how many do I need?

Ok, so i guess I am more then a little nervous.

What sort of event is it?

As for saying "no?"

"No, thank you" would be my recommendation. Being submissive has little to do with expressing an opinion when in public with strangers.

Now, saying "no" to your Dominant may not necessarily be as good an idea!

What sort of event is it?

It is a BDSM weekend here in Minnesota. My best friend of 20 years (since 1st grade) is the hostess with her Dom, and they asked me to be there. I want her to know I support her, so I am going. I asked to be a volunteer, so I will be at the registration table. I am also interested in the lifestyle, and find this to be a perfect opportunity to see what it is all about. but I am a lesbian (very fem) so I may not find who I am looking for.

There will be a dungeon, nude swimming, classes, and seminars. Food, and host suites. They rented the entire hotel so it is only people who should be there, which is very nice.

Again, should I be like Cher and have a few outfits to wear, or should I be low key?

Best thought I would have is just be you. That way you do not come across as someone your not, attract a person who is looking for the image you mistakenly project, and then end up wondering what went wrong. I can relate to your dilemma, I think we all feel that way when entering unknown territory....but at least if you are authentic you feel comfortable in that sense and can be appreciated for your own unique beauty and not some projected ideal which may not be ideal for the one you might have found happiness with. As to how many outfits...I would take as many as you would normally for a weekend away, with a couple of outfits for evening events, a couple less formal. Hope you have fun..sounds to me like it would be the ideal way to spend a weekend. :)

Wow this sounds like a great weekend... I am just a little envious.. but this is a big weekend here as well...

Just be who you are... there are so many degrees of people there that will fit in...

While I am bi, I have many fem friends who are lesbian... and we all get along great! I even have one who plays with Himself and me on occassion...

The rule is if you don't want to you don't have to... just remember that and report anyone who makes you feel uncomfortable with their advances!
