I saw it on the interbone and immediately thought about Jelly. I got busy and a few weeks passed, and when I saw her posting on Lit I was reminded and had to go search it out for her. I thought she'd like it.

Man, I love you guys!

Also, whatever happened to MisterSir? I liked that guy quite a bit!

He hasn't posted on facebook in forever. I don't know if he's taken an entire internet hiatus or what, but he's just vanished. I wished I'd thought to get his email address or phone number so I could check up on him. Hope he's okay!

Apparently I'm going for a record number of sequential posts in a thread about myself, egads...

An update: I'm teaching! After earning my B.A., I went for my M.Ed. with a focus on middle childhood ed. I'm one of the lucky first-year teachers who found a job, and after having my evaluation today, I have no concerns about next year.

Seeing as you're going for a record and all, I thought I'd toss in a couple of new questions.

What do you like best about teaching? What do you dislike most about it? Reader's Digest often does articles along the lines of "50 things Your (insert profession here) Won't Tell You." What are some common complaints teachers voice about today's parents or kids?

(That should help you out.)

Okay, I could type endlessly...apparently this just became my mini-blog. I'm going to stop with this: My school is fantastic, my principals are supportive, my team makes me laugh every day and we have each others' backs. The kids are fun and nearly all of them put forth the effort. There's way, way more good than bad. I look forward to every day.

Hey - I asked, so there's nothing wrong with that. I rather appreciate the insider's view.

I'm really, really glad that you feel so rewarded by what you do because I'm sure that only makes you that much better of a teacher. And what a gift to your students that must be, whether they realize it or not.

Re: the parents who think their kids do no wrong - OY! Yeah - I go to great lengths to make sure I'm not THAT parent. I'll stick up for my kids when necessary, but I'm also quite aware of their shenanigans.
