Spoils (Open)

Penn would take a few moments standing on the porch before answering Jayne's question of which way. Any way but that way, pointing in a northern direction.

Jayne looked over to where Penn was pointing and nodded, squeezing her sisters hand she turned in the direct opposite direction and took a step off the doorway of the house, her foot making a noise on the leaves and twigs that she stepped on.

"This way then," she said and smiled up at her sister.

They would walk for a good 20 minuets or so staying mostly near the house more for Penn's sake as she did tire often but all and all seemed to be doing very well.

They walked and eventually came upon a fallen tree. Seeing Penn was once again breathing heavily she led her over to her it sitting down on it and putting her arm around her sister as she sat beside her.

"I'm not sure we should keep walking, I do not know these places" she said turning to look at her sister, she saw the color coming back to her face she smiled as she saw it and reached up touching her cheeks with her fingers. "You are looking much better"

I agree besides the sun is setting and I am getting a very bad feeling right now. Come on let us get back to the house.

Standing once more and heading back in the direction that we had just come in, Jayne's hand holding that of Penn as they walked back with no sign of the old lady.

"What bad feeling Penn?" Jayne asked as they headed back.

Something is around that just. I feel like I am being watched but whatever is watching is scared or doesn't wish to be seen. Hard to describe.Sorry Jayne.
They would make it back to the front porch at which time Penn stopped cold pointed to the door which was wide open then signing to Jayne , did you leave it open? She only ask because Jayne was following her so there was no way she herself could have left it open.

Jayne stopped too looking at the door, "No. I did not. I closed it, I am pretty sure I closed it Penn" she looked at her sister and then back at the door. Glancing all around her she slipped her hand free from Penn's and took a step standing on the doorstep.

About that time Kynng's head would appear out of the doorway, then quickly dart back in. This would make Penn smile as she dropped her sister's hand and ran inside only to stop just inside the door way seeing the old lady laying there on the floor covered in cuts and bruises barely breathing or moving.

She heard her sister scream and ran up to her sister and then she screamed herself as she saw the old lady. Pushing past her she fell to her knees wanting to reach out and touch the lady but holdong her hand just hovering above her body "Who did this?" she asked as tears streamed down her face. A shaking hand reached out touching the head of the old lady.

"Penn get something, some water something to clean her up" she screamed back at her sister.

Book, was all the old lady said taking one last breath closing her eyes and passing rather peacefully. Kynng by her feet and Jayne and Penn each holding a hand.

Penn would look to Jayne then tears streaming down her face also. What did she mean by book Jayne and what are we to do now?

Now what Jayne did not realize was that before the old lady went for her walk all those days ago she had placed a note and map of sorts basically giving her and Penn the house, surrounding lands which wasn't much maybe 5 archers total but that included a pond that the sisters knew nothing of in which they could fish. Within the note her only stipulation was that they would keep Kynng as their own for as long as he lived.

"Her book" Jayne opened her eyes suddenly remembering. "Its in the kitchen."

She looked at the old lady and Jayne could swear she saw her try to smile, and close her eyes. And she was gone. Jayne stared down at her, kneeling by her side as she looked up at her sister seeing the book in her arms.

"Its too late Penn" she said in a quiet sad tone.

I know. What more could Penn say. Taking a deep breath in. I guess we need to see about dealing with her remains but first Jayne go get the book she says it's important something is in that book for both of us addressed to you.

Penn would then turn look at the old lady then look up and begin speaking as if talking to her. Yes OK I understand white dress hair bun no make up no jewelry ...boat?...water?...fire?... ahh OK I understand now. Yes we promise. OK rest now.

Penn would drawl a great breath then moving over to Kynng taking his head and moving it to sit on her lap. We're going to be OK. We all are going to be OK.

Jayne...

Jayne had stood and walked out the book was in the kitchen and she stood there just looking at the cover her hand brushing over it as she heard her sister call out for her and when she turned Penn was standing in the doorway.

"She trusted this to me, and I...I...I dont know if I can do it," She opened the book.

Wiping her eyes with the back of her hand, 'she left us the house and the land' she said through sniffing her hands shaking as she turned the page.

We where her children Jayne or she saw us that way. Now that you found what she wanted you to find we need to tend to her. There is a white dress in her closet go get that while I fix her hair as she wants it.
Penn had already begun to do the old lady's hair up in this pain steakingly beautiful bun making sure every piece of the sliver white hair was just as it should be.
There is a apparently a wood boat by a pond or something she wants to be taken there and her and the boat burned. Penn would continue talking to Jayne. It all seems simple enough.
She never did say anything about her stuff but I guess we can go through it keep what we want and try to sell the rest. We will after all need money for food, I think.
Jayne would then hear Penn drawl another deep breath this one sounding more ragged then past one, and Penn would simply stop talking.

Jayne turned leaving the book open, suddenly she felt like the younger sister as she looked into Penn's eyes and smiled. Hugging her only briefly Jayne slipped past her sister and walked through the house. Finding the closet and opening it she saw the dress and took it hearing Penn's deep breathing as she walked back in and saw her fixing her hair.

"Are you ok Penn?' she asked, laying the dress down and kneeling by her sister watching as she worked and reached up touching the face of her sister and ran a hand through her hair.

Penn would not look up,would not answer at all but a fresh tear that hit the old lady said all that was needed to be said at that very moment, even as with stead fast hands she continued to work on the old lady's hair.

Jayne reached out wrapping her hands around her sister and even as she still worked she kissed her cheek looking down watching until she was finished. "I got the dress for her" Jayne said as she turned Penn to face her reaching up wiping the tears from her face.

OK, bring it to me so I can dress her please Jayne. Penn was being unusually quite while doing everything she was doing, and Jayne once that is done if you can set up the carrier used to bring me home that would be great, and if there was a map left get that too since neither of us knows this property well at all. Once that is all done she should be ready for her final journey and then I will handle Kynng make sure he he is brushed and looks his best before I attach him to the carrier to carry his mistress one last time.

All Jayne could do was as Penn told her and she did it without questioning her younger sister. The next time she came back into the room the old lady was dressed in the white dress. "The carrier is ready and I have a map"

Penn would nod lean in whisper something into Kynng's ear and then hook him up to the carrier the old lady was now in then look to Jayne. Lead the way please sister.

Jayne looked down at the map as she walked standing on the doorstep of the house looking at the darkness from the night sky and being in the woods it all looked so black. Shining a light on the map she looked at it and then glanced back at her sister as she stepped out "I think its this way."

Thinks for a brief moment before looking at Kynng. Kynng pond?
Kynng's head would instantly pop up and turn the way Jayne had said.
I wish it wasn't so dark already but I feel safe enough as long as Kynng is around, do you feel safe enough to do this Jayne.

Jayne turned and reached out holding the hand of her sister, "No, not really but you are here and so is Kynng and we need to do this." she managed a smile and saw that Kynng had now taken the lead going the path that they were going to take, "I guess we just follow" she said to Penn.

works for me.Penn had to chuckle softly. Lead on Kynng.

Soon enough they where at this rather large pond with a small dock and what looked to be a hand carved wooden cannon attached to it.

Penn said nothing now as she went to the dock pulling the boat in only then did she look to Jayne. Help me get her into the boat carrier and all. I don't want Kynng to ever have to carry this carrier on his back again and I am fairly certain we can make another. As Penn said this she began unhooking Kynng from the carrier once it was finally done Kynng simply moved to the edge of the dock and laid down and started staring at the water as if waiting.
