Special Categories ~ Question

Hello Fellow AHers!

Just wondering if anyone has 'the inside scoop' on the special category awards (yes, I've already read the related thread in the Awards section )... I'm just not really clear on how they work or when they will occur. I realize it must be a great deal of work and I'm trying to be a good patient little contender, but I'm just so excited and thrilled to have been nominated for one and I'm sittin' on pins & needles.

I'd love any additional info you beautiful LIT gurus might have!

In the past, the special catergory awars are voted for, along with the category awards in what is called the year end wards. It's sort of a package deal, with the special cats supplamenting the individual story cat awards.
