Has anyone tried Spamwasher with Win'98?
Does it work?
I haven't gotten it to even finish installing yet. It goes through several pages of setup screens then just doesn't respond any more.
Does it work with XP?
Or, is there a better program?

Snag a copy of AdAware from www.download.com
Then get Mozilla from www.mozilla.org
Follow that with a copy of Zone alarm.
Install all three. Follow Adaware's instructions- wil get rid of not just bugs but spy programs on you computer.
Mozilla will prevent you from getting more with both its "pop up" blockers and other features. Plus its leaps and bounds better then IE.
FInely- Zone Alarm allows you to tell which programs can and can't access the outside world, and which ones can and can't enter your computer, thus making you safer.
Have fun.

Thanks

I have Adaware and Spybot programs and delete my cookies every few weeks. And I have no problem with IE.
My problem is with 20 spam emails a day. And a friend gets over 100.

Please support legislation to prevent these people from sending this garbage to us.

They can go after Telemarketers and Tele-Faxers with a 1991 law.
Why can't they use the same law to prevent spam, which is also sent over my phone lines without my consent?

Mozilla is well worth the 3 minutes it takes to download and install. Best web browswer avilable.

yes mozilla is very good. Its got a few minor issues that pop up but that is rare.

As for e-mail spam...well use filters. If you have hotmail then just set your spam filter to exclusive.

consider changing e-mail addresses.

if you're signing up for a site that requires e-mail for access and you don't plan on using it much use yadayada@spam.la as your address. Yadayada being whatever you want. YOu can goto www.spam.la and check the e-mail for any info you might need.
