The choice of their song for Eurovision has led to accusations of vote-rigging on a professional jury, two of whose members were associated with the winner.
In recent years Spain has come very low down in the Eurovision rankings, just above the UK who are very unpopular - nul points for the UK - again.

There were three finalists - the winner with a slick professional ballad, a feminist and inclusive song sung in a regional language, and one for Literotica - a song in praise of breastfeeding performed in front of a giant tit. Both of those got more public votes than the winner, but the judges overruled the public vote.
