WriterDom said:I wouldn't put Tech on the same level as Vandy. Tech is ranked at some point every year it seems. Their problem is they can beat teams they shouldn't and lose to teams they should beat.
Did you know that Georgia is #3 in recruiting and Alabama is #4? Both programs are on the rise and we'll probably be meeting in Atlanta in the next 5 years multiple times.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -ÝTwo social fraternities will lose their seats close to the field and new penalties are being imposed after cups were thrown at Georgia players celebrating their overtime victory over Alabama on Sept. 22.
Delta Kappa Epsilon and Theta Chi will be moved farther back into the stands for the next two games at Bryant-Denny Stadium, spokeswoman Cathy Andreen said.
The Office of Judicial Affairs also will begin enforcing new sanctions against students who throw anything at any sporting event on the campus.
Talk about a slap on the wrist. Classless bunch of pussies. They should have no seats for the rest of the season.

There is too much value placed on football here. Our high school didn't make the academic standards but no one is too upset about it as long as the football team is in the top 10. But let the football team go 2-8 and heads would roll. Just like on Friday Night Lights the coach would come home to "for sale" signs all over his yard.
On the positive side it might keep some kids in school who would quit otherwise. And if a kid has the chance to play at the next level he has to crack a few books to qualify. In the past there were guys in the NFL who spent 4 years in college and couldn't fucking read.

morninggirl5 said:It depends on what the limit is for subgroup size in your state. Ga counts subgroups if there is 45 students, so for most elementary schools the subgroups aren't an issue. It's the middle and high schools that have enough special ed or ELL students to have to count them.
