you know, a plane ticket might be a little bit easierSnoozebutton2 said:Wonders how much cost to rent van across country to kidnap neon. My defence in court is my stomach made me do it. lol
Where do you live again?WriterDom said:Like my new location?

In Greenville, so you just come on over. I know the ticket might be easier but with the van have you tied up longer. lolneonflux said:you know, a plane ticket might be a little bit easierand kidnapping might not even be necessary, LOL!
Where do you live again?
neonflux said:Hmmmm, kidnapping, when I'm in such an exclusively Toppy mood recently? (Well, for at least the past 2 months.) Especially after last night? Hmmmm???
Then again, if you spoon feed me grits along the way... I will be tied up, after all.![]()

neonflux said:Do you know, there is only one Denny's in San Francisco - it's in Japantown of all places. And in addition to Hawaiian breakfasts, they serve grits of all things. Since Kaiser is within a 10 minute walk, I go and have breakfast there whenever I have to see my doc. Now grits, I'd kidnap for, LOL. (Don't keep them around the house, because they are sooooooooooo tempting.)![]()
Neonneonflux said:I had lunch with my SO yesterday (very romantic, at the same restaurant we shared our first meal in), and they served frozen lemon custard as a desert. It came in a star shape, covered in a lemony white chocolate. He mentioned reading that frozen custard was a tradition in some parts of the south - and that one can even find food stands dedicated to it (like ice cream stands)??? Inquiring minds (+ I'm going to be in New Orleans soon)... it was downright yummy!

LOL! The weather is actually one of the things that kept me from going to school at Tulane. I thought I knew hot from my summers spend with my godparents in College Station (he was a professor at Texas A&M). Then I went to visit the campus at the beginning of the summer... The one thing that is nice is that being on the water it at least cools down enough to be comfortable in the evenings! Now, about the daiquiris...WriterDom said:I've been to New Orleans a few times. Spent a couple of weeks there twice in Navy schools. It's hot as hell. You step outside for 2 minutes and sweat like a hog. Fun place though. The only place I've ever been where you can get daiquiris at the drive-thru.![]()

Not sure about the sticking around part. Posting just doesn't seem to be my thing anymore, kwim? It's nice to pop in every now and then though.![]()
Chris_Xavier said:While I wouldn't necessarily call Denny's a "southern restaurant" (especially when compared to Cracker Barrel) but the fact that they serve grits in SF is great. I personally consider the modern day South those places where you can go to just about any restaurant and place an order for grits w/o causing a commotion. Oddly enough, I live in a Southern City that has both a Cracker Barrel and a Bob Evans (which I consider to be the northern equivalent to CB).
ave a good day, ya'll!
