what's your favorite kind?

the reason i ask is cuz i'm sitting here at 620 in the morning, freezing my butt off and having some that i'm not sure if i really like or really hate at the moment

New England Clam Chowder

But it has to be homemade or fresh-made at a restaurant, cause I gotta have BIG chunks of potatoes and clam and onion.

Vietnamese curried soup is the only cure for me when I have a hangover.

Home made chicken and rice soup. Also includes carrots and celery. HMMMMMMM good.

I like all kinds of soups, but if I've got a cold, my absolute favorite is avgolemono, that Greek chicken soup with egg and lemon and rice in it. It has this sort of bright, comforting taste that's just right for me when I'm sick. I eat it other times too, of course ... wonder if I have the ingredients to make it now ...

The tomato soup and grilled cheese my Grandma used to make me....years and years ago.

The Four Seasons hotel in DC serves a corn chowder with leeks and bacon that is to die over.

Other than that, lentil.

My mom's homemade Lentil Soup or mom's homemade Chicken Soup with Matzoh Balls (for a non-Jew, she makes it great!)

That brings back memories for me too....I still make it, and my husband says that it is one of the better Yankee recipes.

I love ham and bean too.

I would love to have it just one more time. Seems like no matter who makes it now, it just does not taste the same as Grams..:(

I have a recipe for it in my Grandma's cookbook. It was a wedding gift to her from my Great-Grandmother. It's the recipe I always use. If you want, I could give it to you......;)

Not much of a soup fan but I do like chicken soup that has a few different kinds of veggies in it. Throw some carrots, celery, onions and green peppers then toss in some wild/plain rice. Gotta have rice just makes the soup. Next, you gotta make it spicy. Ground black pepper and a dash of curry poweder are always a good start.
