LAST ROUND QUESTIONS/ANSWERS:

1. A taxi driver was called to take a group of passengers to the train station. The station is normally an hour away, but with traffic being extra heavy, it took a full hour and a half. On the return trip the traffic was still as heavy and yet it only took 90 minutes. Why?
***watchme2003*** 1. an hour and a half IS 90 minutes

2. What do the following pairs of letters represent? RD ST ND
***FIRE_BREEZE*** "1. Suffixes for numbers: 3rd, 2nd, 1st"

3. Without the aid of anyone or anything, how is it possible to tell about how far away a thunderstorm is, from where you stand?
Here is the correct answer: Light travels 186,000 miles per second and sound travels about one mile every five seconds. Since the thunder is the product of lightning, when you see the lignting you should begin to count until you hear the thunder. In this way, you are able to tell how far the thunder has travelled. Example: If you see lightning and are able to count to 10 before you hear the thunder, you should know the storm is about two miles away

*I honestly don't know who to give the answer to...please let me know your thoughts!!!

4. Dee Septor, the famous magician, claims that when he is in the far north, he can point his car north on an ordinary road, drive it for one mile, and without turning around, end up one mile south of where he started. How does he do it?
**SNO_22** 4. He drives it in reverse for one mile.

5. There is an ancient invention still used in some parts of the world that allows people to see through walls. What is it?
***sno_22** 5. a window

Hey! Wait a minute! I got the 90 minute answer before that Sno character! And I do believe that .22 seconds per mile (my first numerical answer) is close enough (actually it's just more accurate)

OK...questions are still 5 points w/ no help but I think you all will agree I really can only handle one question at a time:eek:

Next Question:

In Derek's cottage, where the temperature was below freezing, there was a newspaper, a fireplace, some kindling and a kerosene lamp. What should he light first?
