I haven't exactly been keeping up with the forum lately, since I'm off in a cabin on a slow-ass modem. So you may have covered this already.

But since I saw the footage on TV today, I thought I'd check in with our fellow brits here on the AH and see if anyone's basement is flooded yet.

You got yourselves some nasty rain the last couple of days. We get the aftermath of it here. Same clouds but much less water.

Grab yer sandbags. And a mop.

yeah, there' s a thread already, but you know us English - always love to complain about the weather if we have the chance.

It is only England affected so far, isn't it guys? Mat, Ogg?

Friend of mine has just moved into the flats just down the road from me courtesy of 35k damage to his house. Thank god he has a decent insurance company but it'll be christmas before the damage is fixed.

Got a bit flooded here in Toronto last week. We got about an inch of rain in an hour.

No flooding in the basement though.

We had six inches here last night..... Rain that is and all of it right on top of the drilling rig..... Talk about your mud hole from hell and it was almost dry yesterday afterno0on....
